Greetings all and welcome! New player here with an idea. Recently, CYOA's have been popping up left and right on my pinterest; which motivated me to create something of my own. This is still a rough concept, but I'd like to see if it garners any interest before fully committing. I'm also open to any ideas/suggestions that you may have :) So! As Mario would say... Here we go!

[b][u]Where will our story take place?[/u][/b]
[hider= Answer ]We will be dropped in Japan, in the (not too) distant future; which has been left in devastation. Many cities have been annihilated or reduced to poverty-stricken slums. Only a handful of cities remain intact or been rebuilt.[/hider]

[b][u]How did the world get like this?[/u][/b]

There is no shortage of threats from the natural world, including asteroid impacts and the eruption of supervolcanoes; But who needs natural disasters when you've got human ingenuity? The mysterious "God Particle" has eluded scientists for decades because they lacked the technology for any proper research. So, the introduction of particle accelerators marked the start of a race to find the missing piece of the physics puzzle. One Japanese research group is confident they will find the God Particle, having built the world's largest particle accelerator. Unfortunately, bigger doesn't always mean better.

As the saying goes "Pray for the best and prepare for the worst". Though, nobody could have prepared for what was to come. With the push of a button, the particle accelerator started. Shortly after, an unknown error caused the accelerator to explode; which opened a dimensional rift. Horrific creatures, demons, began flooding out of the rift and brought destruction in their wake.[/hider]

[b][u]So, demons now run rampant in the world?[/u][/b]

Nope! Fortunately enough, the demons are not fully rooted to our world (yet?). Rifts now open at random, meaning it could be weeks or months between attacks. Just before the rift closes, it forces all demons back to the abyss from which they came. It is believed that demon attacks cannot last longer than 6hrs- The longest recorded attack to date.[/hider]

[b][u]Where do our characters come in?[/u][/b]

After many battles and countless lives lost, it has been concluded that the only way to fight fire is with fire. Many years after the first attack, researchers have finally made a breakthrough. They are now capable of creating beings that can stand against demons. Yup! We are genetically modified test-tube-babies/weapons xD. Though, how this is managed has been kept as highly classified information (because it spoil something I have planned for the future, if this takes off lol).[/hider]

[center][b]What to expect[/b][/center]

[b][u]Options, options... And more options![/u][/b]
Much like CYOA's, I will add options to the character creation. Everyone will start with "x" amount of points to create their character. Though, as suggested, there will be plenty of options for you to create a unique character :) 

What I have in mind so far:
[u]Physiology[/u]: Scientists have the freedom to create weapons(our characters) however they desire. So, to add some diversity to our test-tube-babies, this will replace the common "race" section. Essentially, this will be your characters "base package/perks & drawbacks" For example, a character with a berserker physiology may experience a temporary power boost and pain suppression; but they become an uncontrollable rage-machine. Or! There could be a dragon physiology that gives your character scales and fire breath. So on and so forth.

[u]Enhancements[/u]: These enhancements will push your character further into the superhuman levels, so you can deal with those pesky demons. This includes things like strength, stamina, durability, etc. (May even include some mental enhancements)

[u]Magic:[/u] Want to run around the woods yelling "Lightning bolt!"? Good news, you can! (if you spend the points of course)
