Trevor "Shadow" Stevens
Drip… Drip… Drip… The subtle sound of water dripping off his clothes continually broke his concentration on the here and now. The small drip was a bit annoying but still through this he continued to watch and listen to the others while he finished cleaning his armor. His mind drifted back to what his father had told him, the things about secrecy and careful planning, his father always had other motives for the things he did. After all, the man was sly and smart as well as violent when he felt it was necessary. His mind drifted to the resources he had brought with him and whether he should let his anger and passion get the best of him and use these resources. His train of thought was broken when the Doc chimed in about being his doctor. Without thinking, he spoke to him, “don’t worry Doc it’s just a small sta-“ cutting himself off and looking over at Maisy, “-ab wound… Uhh yeah. I disinfected and cauterized the wound though, so it should be fine.” Trevor looked at Maisy bit his lip and shrugged. He knew he would get crap for that later, he figured the girl worried about him about the same as he worried about her. With the commotion of Jain losing her composure Trevor took this opportunity to wring out his clothes into the bucket and start putting them back on. The confession and subsequent promotion was welcomed, he strived with authority but always seemed stifled when in full command. He finished putting his clothes on as Maisy spoke, he didn’t know what it was about her, but he sure did love the way she talked. He decided to speak after she had, “a whole lot more people could have died Jain. It ain't yer fault, I’m sure we all know shitty things happen all the time. But I can guarantee you that if we did nothing, if we just rode around the town and completely skipped it. Your people would have never forgiven you and many, many more would have died.” He paused for a moment as he slipped his chain mail on and began to fasten the leather straps on it, “you did a good job Jain, you should be proud you saved so many. Most of us can’t say the same, that we saved an entire town from destruction.” Putting his belt and small back pack on he sighed, “So you grieve, you heal, you rest, you do what you have too. We will pick up the slack on our end, don’t you worry your pretty little face.” He checked his gear and equipment before speaking again, this time he wasn’t speaking to anyone in particular just speaking, “Everyone is entitled to their own sorrow, for the heart has no measure or form of merit, and all of it is… irreplaceable” he glanced to Maisy and gave her a soft smile before looking back to the door. The door seemed to open for a moment and stop, then a dog and a scout walked in. Raphael, Trevor couldn’t recall the man’s position but then again he wasn’t really one to question the ranks of others for the most part. The news that the man brought though was interesting and again made him think about what he could do, “if no one else minds, I could get some of my men and me and Maisy could get the information out of the one prisoner you brought in. then me and my team could leave on horseback depending on how far away their camp is, if they have one” he crossed his arms and looked around at the others. His voice held strength and a bit more emotion than his usual monotone voice, “after we learn the location, my strike team could go and finish off the bandit threat” again he paused and thought about his plan, “I would be back tonight if I get the info quick. But I do recommend we stay here for a few days at least, even if we do take out the rest of the bandits this place seems to be lifting the morale of the troop already.” [@RumikoOhara][@Poi][@Polaris North][@Dnafein]
