You guys post so much when I'm not available! Haha, I'm trying to catch up right now. As to[@ScorpionFlower]'s question, you guys are correct. As much was made public but might not be entirely obvious in the recent political exposition, the Ballanger guards who attacked the Filtiarn guards were, indeed, vampires who killed them later that night in the streets. This type of attack is relatively common, although it usually occurs in much less populated areas and with much less high-ranking individuals. That's what made this attack cause so much uproar. That being said, vampire and lycan attacks are relatively common inside the city walls, but they are usually more sneaky about it, especially with the hunters around, now. (I'd say there is some kind of attack at least once a week, though it's not always talked about since it's often done in the slums and could be chalked up to overdoses/sickness/any other things that could kill poor beggars.) There are political ties to things, as Dromeus Ballanger clearly knows about his gaurd's involvement in the attack and their vampire status. He has had them killed and is doing all he can to take the blame off himself and the family. That being said, from the characters point of view, they can be suspicious of the noble house's involvement but they have no real reason to suspect them yet. Oh yeah, and this hunt they are on right now is a way for Dromeus to push the blame on someone else. While it is a vampire colony, they are relatively passive other than killing local livestock. The hunters don't know that, however. ALSO also, I like it when characters get hurt in fights >:3 It makes it feel more real and potentially creates drama. Hence, the fact that Drystan got injured a few times fighting the fish monster. Anastasia would have been tied to the activities as she is the only character close with the Ballanger family but, unfortunately, she had to drop out. If anyone has any reason or want to get their character involved in the politics, I would definitely be open to having one of the noble families' children befriend them. Here are some possibilities to keep in mind when everyone comes back to Rothenburg. I would love to have some intermingling plots with the hunters and the noble families.
Currently, Rosaline Weyenburg (20) is the only one of their family who is old enough and involved enough with the public to meet and possibly befriend a hunter. I'm also definitely up to any romantic involvement as that would stir the pot and bring up plot things, as she is also unmarried/unengaged. The two younger Weyenburgs are also available to meet with the hunters at some point and befriend them, though they are too young for any romantic activity, plus Emmaline is engaged to the King's son and Charillos is 7. As for the Ballangers, Lancelin (24) is very stoic and somewhat emotionless. He is engaged to the King's daughter and takes his duty very seriously. His brother, on the other hand, Villiame (19) is a poet and lover of women. He currently fancies Anastasia, but, as Excal has left and Anastasia is almost twice his age, he would definitely be open to changing fascinations to another young woman if given the chance. He is also a bit too trusting and could easily slip some noble secrets to a lover. Eudeline Ballanger (16) is off the table romance-wise because she is very dutiful and is engaged to Luther Filtiarn. She could always befriend someone, though. As for the Filtiarns, you would have to ask [@LordLinguinie] as he is mostly in control of them. Luther and Elaine are both spoken for, but Luther is a known womanizer. Elaine also is not in love with her husband, the King's brother.
