[@Kalleth] Ah...*scribbles out some ideas* Flora is a good idea. And a few more ideas to ask about, just to get an idea of things: Is "Magnetism", or something like "Gas" or "Fog" that could be a gaseous subset of water perhaps like Ice is a solid sub-element, work?
Magnetism is a property which emerges from electron arrangement. That said, Lightning users are essentially manipulating electrons to create and control their element. Thus there's a potential magnetic power/technique which Lightning users could discover if they're clever enough. It's not broad enough to even be a sub-element though, since this is the Elemental (in Aristotelian sense) Academy and not the Basic Universal Forces Academy. Though I will grant you that BAFU is a much more pleasing abbreviation than EA. *shudders* As for gas/fog, all elementalists can manipulate their element in a variety of forms. The more forms of the element they choose to manipulate, the more time and energy they have to invest in exploring the mechanics of their second soul. Any esoteric use of Earth for example, such as Flora, is practically so different as to be nearly it's own sub-element. Jordan Manilow's specialization is Sand, however he's a 42 year old man, so he can manipulate Sand, Soil, and Rock all with high competency, in theory. His specialization, essentially comes from his military past. As annoying as he is, his elemental expertise is very practical. But for example, Jordan wouldn't have the first clue as to how to use Flora techniques. Anyway, to come back around to what I was trying to say, variations of an element, especially physical but in some instances spiritual as well, are still under the umbrella of said element. Choose a specialization if you like, but you don't need to limit yourself to just Fog. Gas would be air, and Fog water, and all these CHILLY Ice experts are in fact Water users. So have at er. Let me know if anything else is needed.
