Ok so this is the visual for the map of The Evershift, the Desert of Hag'dvad. It is a scarcely populated area with scorching heats and deadly foes. This is the only way to walk from the north to the south. You have to get a boat to do it otherwise. But since it's at this point the land becomes infertile and the food becomes more scarce as well, the people of these areas took to nomadic survival. The Nomads of the Evershift however are unique because they don't have a formal civilization. On the southern continent there are the Orcs and A tribe of humans, as well as a few more races that I haven't gotten to implement yet since I have to build this world brick by brick as they say and the main continent isn't fully mapped yet either. So for now the southern continent is in the alpha planning stages while I map the written info of the north. It's a slow process especially since I have to use my writing inspiration effectively and that means rp'ing or making more content for my lore. I haven't really smoothed out the edges or made the design of the southern continent yet. That's why as of now you have full free range to design your Orc culture. I wouldn't retcon you in the rp though I already came to terms with the fact there are two continuities to my world right now being the tabletop canon and the rp canon, this forum falling into the latter of the two. I could sit here and talk about my lore for DAYS but I got to do some writing for a new concept I haven't implemented in yet and am rather excited about at the moment. The Underdark, which is rather easy to adapt into my lore than I thought. The only issue I'm running into is like, Dark elves in base D&D come from the Underdark, but in my lore Dark elves and Drow are two separate races that came from an ancient Elven war and being off shoots of "Elf" or in my lore now refereed to as "High Elf" and the classic wood ranger druid elves are the "Wood Elves". I figured out how to GET civilizations into my lore's Underdark, but since elves are the way they are I need a brand new elf to design for the Underdark explicitly. If you want to know more about WHY elves are so complicated and vast, please consult your local ancient wizards. But yeah a whole new continent where I get to use monstrosities without trampling my established lore sign me up. So I'm working on that for now and plan to finish up the history of the Evershift after I explain that in my notes, then I'm proceeding to the glacial north and the Viking/Arthurian Kingdom of that territory. Then, once I established here's the lowest point and the highest point of this landmass, I plan to fill in the middle with all the territories I had explained in my writing to this point including the Forest of Heria, the Dark Elf Kingdom, the Forest of Lies, the High Elf Cities, The two Dwarven kingdoms, The port city that contains the Arcanium, and then finally on my to do list The Deadlands. Then there's the wilderness, and then I can do the southern continent. Lot of work to be done. I hope when I sit down for my first session in this lore it will be an exciting place to explore the same way your characters would have to from level 1.
