Lore: Durvain University Once upon a time, magical healing was seen as a cushy profession. Learn a simple stitching spell, patch people up, and let others do the heavy lifting. It was easy, safe, and rewarding. Then, during the Second Void War, Erudessa Durvain began to make her debut. Unlike any other healer before her, she'd learned the secrets of Resurrection. This will require a little explanation. A human consists of three major parts: body, soul, and spirit. The soul is your essence, that which makes you you. It is your mind, your thoughts. The brain is the body's interface between body and soul. Your spirit anchors your soul to your body. Magic, by the way, is casting part of your spirit outside your body. Anyway, when the body's integrity falls below the threshold of viability (e.g. beheading), the spirit begins to detach from the body. This takes about 7 seconds. Erudessa Durvain had a theory that if bodily integrity could be restored and the spirit reattached, the individual would not die. This is all well and good except for one critical problem: healing mortal injuries normally takes hours or days, not seconds. But Erudessa was immortal, and she studied and practiced the healing arts until she could do it. When she tested her theory during the War, it worked exactly as predicted. Years later, when she was able to settle down and return to normal life again, she started training other healers. Within a few decades, she was no longer the only person alive who could perform a resurrection. Durvain's healers quickly became renowned as the best in the world, bar none. Lesser healers either had to adapt or change professions. Erudessa Durvain took advantage of this opportunity to make a little money and started a university in her name. To this day, Durvain University continues to uphold its reputation for excellence.
Unless Solomon intends to become an extremely hard-working, self-sacrificing young man and wise beyond his years in the span of a few months, wooing Erudessa is next to impossible. She's not one of the select two girls unless you can present a solid case for why she needs to come with you on your journey.
