Pokemon: Prime

The feel of this RP will come very naturally to most people. You will start off on a new Pokemon journey. There is an attainable objective of becoming the Pokemon Champion, but their will be other features to entertain you as well. These will be added as we progress. Now, it's important to note that this is an alternate reality from the cannon Pokemon universe. In other words, don't reference any locations or characters mentioned in the anime. We're starting over fresh. As GM, I will play an active role in this RP. After every user's IC post, I will post something in return. This can be responding to a user controlled character, initiating a wild battle, or anything else of the like. I will be throwing advanced digital dice behind the scenes to guide most of my actions, such as determining wild Pokemon appearances. However, when you're battling or trying to catch a Pokemon, I'll use this site's simple dice system so that everyone can see. That's the gist of it! For more detailed information, Check out the hiders below:

Generational Gyms - The map is divided up into areas. Each area hosts a specific generation. Gym leaders in each area focus on Pokemon from that particular generation, instead of Pokemon-type.
Maturity - The general feel of this RP will be PG-13 and R. Though, humor won't be tossed aside.
Blurred Lines - There will be a few different factions that arise in this RP, but it won't always be easy to spot the 'good guys' and the 'bad guys'.
Worldwide Conflict - Like the Pokemon games, there will be moments of great danger. Usually (but not always) these moments will come from legendary Pokemon.

First you post; then I post; then you post. etc.

Every Pokemon in existence will be in this RP. Collecting them all will be a tough task. I do set which Pokemon are available in each location, but until you encounter one in the wild, this information is kept hidden. Like the games, you can keep up to six Pokemon on your person at a time. After that, you will send them to the PC, which is accessible from any Poke Center. The only moving stat that we will be keeping track of is HP. And this is only relevant in Wild Pokemon battles (more on battle's next) A Pokemon's max HP is equal to it's current level. As long as you're not in the middle of a battle, you can instantly heal your Pokemon by recalling them to their Pokeball.

There are two types of battles: RP battles & Showdown Battles --- RP Battles: In this format, you will send out one Pokemon to battle against one other Pokemon. I'll roll two dice at the same time, using this site's dice mechanic. One dice represents your Pokemon's level; the other dice represents the wild Pokemon's level (A 50% bonus will be given to Pokemon with a typing advantage). If the result is negative (being the opposing Pokemon rolled a higher number) your Pokemon will loos power. If the opposite is true, the opposition will loose power instead. As long as both Pokemon still have Power, the battle can continue. A Pokemon's die roll will not drop along with their Power. They will always roll a dice equal to their level. There are two ways that RP Battles can start:

Wild Pokemon: In your travels, you will bump into wild Pokemon. The main objective in this situation is to lower the opposition's Power enough so that you have a better chance at catching it.
Random Trainers: Random trainers will occasionally challenge you to a battle. These battles are 1v1. They will choose one Pokemon; then you will choose one Pokemon. The objective here is to lower the oppositions power to zero. After beating a trainer, they will be added to the Random Trainers section inside of the 1st Characters post.
--- Showdown Battles: Showdown battles are fought using Pokemon Showdown. If you're interested in starting a PvP battle, you must set up an IRL time that both of you can be online in order battle via Pokemon Showdown. The team you use in Showdown needs to match your actual team here in the RP. In other words, your Pokemon need to be the correct level, use level appropriate move-sets, only have items obtained here in the RP, NOT use any HIDDEN abilities, AND have the correct gender, nature, and shiny status Bulbapedia can be used to look up move sets. There are two ways that PvP battles can start:

NPC Battles: In the 1st Characters post you will find a list of NPC Characters. These are all trainers that I control. You'll have to set up a time that you and I can both be online.
PvP Battles: You can also challenge rival players the same way. Simply schedule a time for the both of you to be online. You'll also want to make sure to get your characters to meet at the same location at the same time (within the IC section).

In this RP, there is a digital currency on your Pokedex known as Trainer Points or TP. Every time you post as a character, that character gains one TP. TP is used at Poke Marts to buy special items. Since Pokeballs do all the healing work in this RP, there is no need for potions and revives. Instead, Pokemarts offer Pokeballs, TMs, and specialty items. You can find the inventory of a particular Poke Mart by looking it up on it's Location Description within the MAP KEY found in the 0th IC post.

In this RP, time is relative to the trainer. Posts can summarize anywhere from minute's worth of action or multiple days. I will keep track of what day all characters are on. The only constraint is that, in each post, you can only travel from one location to an adjacent location (unless you're using a special move like FLY). Cities, routes, and landmarks are the three different types of locations. You can find a list of locations in the MAP KEY in the 0th IC post. We will be using the old school method of special moves that grant you extra mobility. BUT once a Pokemon learns one of these moves, they don't have to keep it in play for PvP battles. It can just be understood that they know these moves for the sake of traveling. I'll mark these Pokemon accordingly so that you don't forget. In order to keep myself from being overwhelmed, we will be starting at the #1st Small Town. I will only write descriptions for locations when a character is located in an adjacent area.

In the IC section's 0th post, I will be doing three things. One, I will be summarizing plot points as they arise. Two, I will be adding new locations to the MAP KEY. Three, I will be keeping track of trainer's TP, Pokemon, and Inventory (That's right. Im doing the hard work there, but I'm human. So watch for errors.)

I'm currently only accepting two trainers. Once the wrinkles are ironed out, I'll look at allowing more. The character sheet outline and similar content can be found in the Characters section (go figure).
