The man inhaled then exhaled a deep breath as the pair relaxed on the bench, though his smile dissipated at her next words. Sombra had been keeping up with him? Alex ignored the squirming Arlo in his arms as he narrowed his eyes curiously. "You saw me play?" He'd asked, wondering if maybe she'd known and seen him play College Soccer on TV. Typically Alex didn't enjoy bringing up the subject, but today was full of those so why stop now. Facial expression changing into one of thought as he connected dots before tilting his head, "James comes back to check on his sister, when she's fine. But I tear my ACL, effectively ending any chance of a career in sports, then go through surgery...and you couldn't visit me in the hospital?" It was clear by his voice he was uncertain if he should be upset or not. A part of him was hoping she didn't know, that he was jumping to conclusions. But if she'd watched his games she would have known about the injury. When he'd been in the hospital of course Myra had driven up, his mother not wanting him to deal with everything on his own. Alexander had tried to put on a brave face, and succeed for the most part, but he'd been scared. Afraid that the surgery wouldn't work, or that he wouldn't wake up. The surgery had indeed worked but Alex had never fully recovered despite the doctors telling him that everything was healed. Thus his fear had become real, that he'd lost the ability to compete at his full potential and inevitably left the team and college altogether.
