This is a futuristic world, not a magic one

Weapons can and should get dull/break or otherwise be prone to malfunction.

Quality craftsmanship and futuristic materials can to an extent circumvent this, but not outright indestructiblility

Just checking, does she have a particular reason to use a simple (ie nonmechanical) weapon? Because shify weapons is one of the main gimmicks if the RWBYverse.
