Saeril took notice upon Yavanna when the younger she-elf appeared. The elder made the face of sorrow while also giving her a silent apology. Standing up from her spot, from next to Kili, and approached the princess. She wanted to thank Legolas for keeping the girl safe, but there were no feelings of happiness around them to express such things. There was no time for a reunion, but only grief and mourning for the loss of the king and his eldest heir. The only move she could make was to hug Yavanna, both thankful for her to still be alive, as well as to comfort her at the same time. The elder didn't shed a tear, but still felt pain within her heart. She wasn't able to save Fili in time, and the memory was still fresh when the eldest told her to find Kili and run. He was practically telling her to watch the younger for him, while he can't. This was the same promise, as well as a new one that she will keep. Legolas stood by Tauriel as he watched the sorrow of the dwarves and the two she-Elves. Just by watching the girl shedding tears, that's when he realized that she didn't just befriend these dwarves, she became a part of their family; how foolish he was to not realize the deeper connection she had with such a race that may not seem to the best of all of them.
