A hostage- some kind of crazy sacrifice. She didn't take Silver Falls to have drugged up cultists like this, my God. The woman next to her spoke about some kind of plan. "No..." Was all Alice could say in the few seconds she had to think. Officer Olson looked over at the civilian who seemed remarkably calm for the situation, as if she knew more about what was going on than Alice did. Still, she couldn't take the risk of this random bystander playing heroics and getting that hostage killed. Clearly the man was thinking vary irrationally, probably on the same drug that gave the first lumberjack that incredible pain tolerance. He probably wouldn't be stopped by bullets or be scared by the threat of violence. He was probably going to hang that girl up and cut her open, or some other horrific act of violence. The only option left was ambush. There was no way to tell how long there was left before the maniac killed the girl. No way to tell if there was a way in that wouldn't take too long. No way, no way, no way. He hadn't noticed them yet. In that moment, Officer Olson concluded that her best chance of getting the hostage out safe was to bust in and take out the hostile. The supect could easily get away while they were out here through the window, or worse. She had to be able to pursue and follow through on any attempted attack. "No, I'm going in. Help me get this door open and then stand back." Alice then began to quickly and violently break down the door. Demons? Maybe she was not thinking straight because that car crash had scared her more than she was letting on. Worst case scenarion she had a concussion and her brain wasn't functioning right, which meant it was unsafe to let her drive. Jenny's immediate goal was to get the car pulled over, and the best way to do that was try to be calm, friendly, and give the injured person someone to trust and let lead them for a little bit. The nurse's feautures relaxed as she said her next few sentences. "Lauren, are you okay? We can pull over and talk about this. I'm a nurse, I can help you." She spoke calmly, though she was nervous, and put a hand gently on Lauren's shoulder.
