Honestly, the dynamic between Kage and Jack is great. He fights for fun. She fights to survive. To her, combat is something that should be only used when necessary, and will usually leave a corpse behind. 

The conflict between their opposing philosophies is going to be intriguing.

The fact that they use similar magics only serves to emphasize the difference.
