"What happens then is you get another beating, boy. I've been itching to take out some of my frustrations on you, so don't give me a reason. Unless you just like having your face bashed in." Kacey commented casually with a shrug as she heard Maverick's response. She hadn't considered Angel's race as being a factor. Years of traveling had somewhat dimmed her distinction of races, and the stereotypes that came with it. She had yet to adapt to all the prejudices that this country had, and quite honestly she didn't want to adapt. The amount of barriers that were placed around humanity simply because of race was astonishing. As she thought of her travels, the winding path of her mind led Kacey to her son, as it had been doing for several weeks now. In two days he would have been seven. Would have been. The pain of that life taken so early had not faded, and she doubted it ever would, but it was especially noticeable around the time of his birthday. It made her think of all the times she should have had with him, but never did. Very simple things, like teaching him how to read and write, seeing him grow up and progress as a human, and just being his mother. But she wasn't a mother anymore, and this was not the time for these thoughts. "The name is Kacey, Angel. But you do have a point, and Maverick had a good solution, so you and Emily will just switch places." Kacey stated. Much as she hated him, Maverick did have good suggestions at times.
