Sue wanted to say more, not in retaliation not just for Anthony’s sake, but for such an almost hateful attitude towards a person. She felt injustice with this and she was actually very hurt to see her own friends be like this. She still cared for them, no matter what, and could never hate them; she always saw or would look for the best in everyone, not excluding bad people. 

When Sue’s hands were in Anthony’s, she wanted to pull away, but she did not resist – the force of her …love… for him was strong, and she knew that with him, she would be safe, and that there was peace again.
