Well, basically, the initial revolts started in in 1925 - 1929, then continued in ever-increasing intensity for the next few decades, with Lady Trung's father, Phan Boi Chau, dying in the 30s or 40s. In the 50s, Lady Trung began rising into power, leading her own group sometimes, combining with other groups at other times, and eventually joining with Diem to besiege Saigon in 1959.

Then, this year, 1960, she got betrayed and forced back to the mountains...
