[@Mae] I thought that was my compass? (Yes, that is what Mae and I settled on for Aaron's item.) Encounters are battles, right? Ambushes and such?

Also, is there anything I can roll to either check if the bridge can actually support more than one person, or if I can like, jump across the abyss?
