Whatever you think is realistic for a real time fight, the Falmer aren't going to patiently wait for 5 of their buddies to get cut down before retaliating and other characters will be acting simultaniously. So I'd say 2, maybe 3, is a realistic number. The ranged baddies are fair game if they can be reached (e.g. ranged vs. Rushing out into the swarm), but just make sure to acknowledge they are shooting back at the party.

Other than that, I'm not going to micromanage fights unless they involve named or major NPCs. I trust you guys to just have fun and play realistic characters, so I want you to feel free to handle scenarios as you see fit. Makes for more interesting posting!
