Felix heard footsteps moments before he heard a girls' voice. He could already feel his muscles tensing and his skin crawling. It was the feeling a person got when they were afraid of what was behind himm, but weren't quite sure exactly what was behind him. He did his best to suppress his urge to spin around and kick whatever was following him, and was relieved when the person caught up to him and walked beside him where he could see- S-s-s-so... tall... big... He looked at the girl, pupils becoming pinpoints as his fear refreshed itself at the sight of the girls intimidating height. What did she want from him? Why was she talking to him? Was she going to... eat him? There was that irrational fear again. "P-pl-" He mentally slammed on the breaks, realizing he'd been about to beg the girl not to eat him. That wouldn't have gone well. On his way out, he'd noticed her hat fall off, and seen her ears. At that point, it wouldn't have been a shot at her height, but her race... that probably wouldn't have gone well. That fact that he was shaking and stuttering like an idiot probably wasn't helping either. Racial tensions... something that made his life even harder in a world where harmless messages, and crippling anxiety, could be misconstrued as xenophobia. He wasn't in a great position to explain himself either. "No, no-nothing." Not exactly the truth, but he didn't think she had time for his life story. Of course that didn't explain his behavior, which was far too noticeable to just ignore. "I-I'm, uh, a-always like this." True enough he supposed. "Sorry..." And there was the reflexive apology... I'm so pathetic. His hand twitched, but he resisted to urge to place his hand on his weapon, which was strapped to his lower back. It may have eased his anxiety, but it certainly wouldn't win him any friends.
