[@LordLinguinie] Sounds about right ! I wasn't sure, so I decided to just write what I had in mind. Of course it's fine. As long as the general idea of them having boats superiority (for what it's worth in a bay) and a lot of wealth stick, the general idea remains intact. I knew owning the docks was far fetched. x) I'll edit it out. Who's character is Prince Hugo? Also, what about the mining enterprise that I mentioned somewhere in my sheet? Fishing/Cargo transports (land and sea) Mining Enterprise south for ores (read the Wife's character sheet in case) Black Market Presence And a strong Trade Presence and Wealth. I nerf the possession of the entire docks and change it to multiple possessions along the water-side, and the rest would be okay?
I think You, Nymeria, and I are pretty much all on the same page with the families control of the docks. You can decide the specifics of how the company works and the ships. The Glover family Overresch could be a good rival for the family as they both have shipping/trade companies and both families have history across the Trieste. Technically the Royal's are controlled by both Nymeria and I so either us can take over as Hugo for you or you could even use him as an Npc of sorts. For the land portion of the family enterprises, the mining and moving cargo on the trade paths. I was thinking the mining company could be a joint business with Lucian as he too has just recently broken into the industry. This would also tie the family into the underlying dividing lines, against the Ballangers, possibly even aiming to take some of the Ballanger's business. I don't have a problem with the shady blackmarket dealings and such, though there is no developed history there, so you'll be making it up as you go along.
