We are stripping away the fluff and getting back down to the meat and potatoes of the Arena, high energy competitive creative combat writing. This is also going to be a Newcomer Friendly tournament for those interested in the the functions of Arena RP. We have limited spots and we expect a level of dedication to your matches. But the more you put into this exciting multiverse the more fun you will have. See below for the FAQ!
Fairly Simple, this will be a 12 player single elimination 'knockout' style tournament, the primary 8 brackets are for slightly more confident or returning players while the 'neophyte' brackets are for the newbies, who will get to jump ahead as an advantage. There will be 4 rounds Preliminary, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and Final Showdown. Each round will have a different 'tier and theme'. But that will be explained more later.

Arena battles differ from typical 1x1s or any other RPs because, Arena writing is non collaborative you aren't telling a predetermined story, you are using creative writing to defeat your opponent. Its a contest between (usually) 2 players with pre created character specifically for arena combat. The basic rules/concept can be seen here but if you need clarification on anything, feel free to ask me, [@Rilla], [@Skallagrim] or any other Arena regulars.

Here is the interesting part, you will be using different characters for different rounds of the tournaments. Each with their own theme. Preliminary will be Modern-Normal (Close-ish to realistic, Street-fighters, Soldiers, Low-level meta humans, High level Martial Artists, limited firearms, roughly modern settings.) Quarter Finals will be Fantasy (Low-Powered Tier, Magic Swordsmen, Low Level Demons, Angels, Demi-gods. Mid Level Magic Users, Fantasy Shape Shifters, Humanoid creatures, Elves, Dwarves, Pirates, very early gunpowder weapons. Medieval fantasy settings) Semi Finals will be Science Fiction (Powered Tier: High Tech Agents, Mech Suits (think Iron Man or Samus), Powered Aliens or Mutants, moderate future weaponry and armor) And the Finals will be TBA depending on who the finalists are.

No, I will be organizing the match-ups assigning the battlegrounds, approving the characters and judging the majority of the matches.

Very Simple and easy to make. We usually have character sheets with: Name: Picture: Height: Weight: Abilities & Skills: Equipment: Optional Flavor Text: Skills, Abilities and Equipment should be as detailed as possible, and the strengths should be balanced. SO if your character has enhanced agility in a low tier contest, they probably shouldn't have the best armor and weapons too. But this can all be discussed and reasoned when we are approving.
