It might be because a post stops sending notifications after the tenth one, so if there are ten or more @mentions or @quotes before you, you won't get one. An unfortunate limitation of this site.

EDIT: Also, I'm just going to shoehorn Catherine in as the Homeroom teacher to get this ball rolling. It'll just be a 30min class since it starts at 8:30 and gym starts at 9, so it's pretty lowkey.
