In ancient times that just meant having as long robes as he could afford made of the highest quality fabrics possible (probably linen; he never had the funds for silk or expensive dyes), but over time he's been able to diversify with clothing styles, accessories and color choices. However, he's always been more on the conservative side, never showing more skin than necessary, keeping his hygiene prim and proper (generally clean shaven, but he's also grown a beard of occasion) and perhaps keeping everything a bit too straight-laced. One constant is that Giosue is always bald always. Technically he still has some hair on his head, but he keeps it shaved so as not to look ridiculous. There was a time before becoming Conscious that he mentions having a full head of hair, but such a sight has not been witnessed by anyone who has lived within the past 3 millennia. When the situation dictated it, he would wear a wig, but that hardly counts. Always heading forward dauntlessly or winding around back to where to began. And in some ways they are both right and wrong in a sense. I would propose that the most accurate model for time would be that of a wheel. Present circumstance and my own capabilities notwithstanding, time is always progressing onward whether one likes it or not. But when you look at the history of humanity, broadly speaking behaviors repeat themselves and societies reflect that going through cycles of birth, rise, peak, decline, death and rebirth. And even beyond that more literally time is tracked in cycles. The cycle of day and night, the orbit of the moon and the Earth around the Sun. Even the vast majority of time-track devices are circular. But every time you return back to your starting point, you've moved forward. Oh sure that might not sound very impressive laid out like that, but it took me quite a long time to really understand that or what it meant. People have a habit of taking knowledge they possess for granted. You're always doing the same things over and over again, but you can change the future, and in a way you can also change the past." The primary personality trait of the Watch is Openness, the domain of creativity and abstract ideas. Giosue loves learning and experiencing new things, and he spends much of his time thinking about other things and studying ideas and hypotheses, often to the detriment of actually paying attention to his surroundings. However, his creativity makes him very good at coming up with unorthodox solutions to problems. Second, but not by much is the trait of Conscientiousness, the personality aspect of Order. Like a watch, he is uniform, reliable and prompt. Even when he's wrong, he's wrong in a consistent matter. Everything has its place, and Giosue is loathe to make a mess of things. In this way he naturally does a good job of blending in, because he rarely acts in a way that would disrupt order, socially or legally. Although the term introvert wouldn't fit him, extrovert doesn't quite work either. He makes his opinions known and talks when he thinks he needs to, but he's not overly assertive; however, he's no social doormat or shrinking violet. He does fine both in groups or alone, but doesn't excel or find himself particularly driven to either environment. Giosue has over time, and especially after the death of Drem developed a sort of numbness to the blight of others. He has a difficult time caring about the problems of others and finds himself more distant with his fellow man than he was in times past. His words have taken on a blunt edge. That said, despite his rude demeanor, he's not one easily upset. He's rarely anxious and just as uncommonly mad. Even under harsh circumstances he rarely loses his cool. But at the same time he can be blind to potential dangers or underestimate them simply as a factor of not thinking of them. Logically, something out there must have had a direct hand in making the Emendators. They were just too... unnatural for it to be otherwise. On the other hand, you would think that if there was some supreme god(s) out there, that it would make itself known at least to the immortal manipulators of time-space that it manifested. Give them some clue why they're around and what to do. But no. Nothing. So it was best to not worry about it. The first is the ability to create time jump portals, into the past and the future. It allows groups to be placed into different time eras as well as places. The second is being able to turn time back roughly a single battle turn. The third is perfect time sense. Wherever or whenever The Watch is, he always know exactly what time it is, what day it is, what the phases of the moon are, and the places of the stars. He also knows when the next sunrise, sunset, moonrise, tide, etc. occurs.
Crowd Control - The ability to control crowds. Up to five words may be spoken to issue a single command, and the crowd must act upon it immediately. Now depending on the willpower of persons in the crowd they may break free from it. The command lasts until the task is done or until The Watch can no longer see the crowd with their eyes. When the ability is broken the crowd is left dazed and confused to what is happening for up to three minutes.
History - Knowledge of a particular time period and area. (General Human History)
Club - Ability to fight with a wooden stick, metal tube, or metal bar. Allows use of European and Oriental staves, as well as clubs and other implements of bludgeoning, as well as axes and hatchets. If you so desired I could just open up a portal and allow you to see what happened for yourself. It was quite the night, if I do say so myself, although thinking again you might wind up on the wrong side of the law if you just jumped in ignorant of the culture. Very well, I will simply recant that day as best as I remember. I believe the year was 1427 BC in today's terms. I hadn't quite developed my knack for time then, so I can't be as precise as I normally would be. I was a military officer, had been for quite some time. Not an especially notable one, but I had my men and we were a skilled enough company as you'd put it in modern terms. We had just returned home from a successful campaign against a nearby kingdom and everyone was in high spirits. I gathered up all my men before they all went their separate ways as militaries did before professional soldiers came into vogue. We were all in a bar, and everyone was having a ball. I'd consumed more than my fair share of liquor, and caught up in the spirit, I called everyone's attention to myself. I gave a speech. I don't quite remember the contents of most of it. Time and alcohol are quite a powerful combination when it comes to inducing amnesia within oneself. However, the end I'll never forget. The exact phrasing doesn't exactly translate into English, but as the capstone of my inebriated farewell I instructed my soldiers something along the lines of 'Go forth and be fruitful.' Much to my surprise all of the men suddenly stopped their drinking and... well the rest wouldn't be a very suitable story to tell out in public if you're picking up what I'm putting down. I believe whenever I would happen to meet any one of those men later one would inevitably end up having quite large families. I don't think that was an extension of my own abilities, but it was an odd coincidence either way. I've never been able to have any children myself, but I guess I could treat any of their descendents as spiritually being my grandchildren and so on." Favorite Era: "I feel rather left out whenever I'm asked a question like this. You see, almost without err, my favorite era at any given time is the one I live in at the time. Any particular time-frame I end up enjoying or despising always comes down to whoever I'm with at the time. Human nature is a constant, so every era ends up feeling the same to me with the exception of technological innovation. As far as that goes, I always find myself enjoying the advances to knowledge made by the people around me. It also helps that as technology marches onward, I get access to better, more portable time tracking devices. It was quite the hassle trying to use the Watch when the primary method of telling time was a Grandfather clock. But to get back to the question at hand, I have no great love for any particular era. There were some events I didn't particularly care for, but to equate personal experience with the greater scope of history would be incredibly shortsighted. The equivalent for something on your scale would be akin to '1929 was my favorite year because that's when I met my wife.' Fair enough I suppose, but also millions of people lost their livelihoods and the world suffered the greatest economic crash in history." Finding Another: "I was in what you'd call Denmark nowadays, June 23rd, 843. The time was 6:23, right around sunset. I was in a cozy little hamlet laying low. Scandinavia has the reputation for being cold, but during the summer it's quite nice. The winters are another story, but far from the frozen wasteland that it's often romanticized as. Where was I? Ah yes, I was minding my own business when I notice in my peripheral vision that quite a few people collecting together down the street. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary until I happened to get closer and hear the tone of their voice and see them all moving in one direction. I don't quite remember what they were angry about, but they believed some girl was a trickster god or something. Well I wasn't going to just stand by and allow them to tear some innocent girl to pieces, so before they could be upon her, I maneuvered my way to the front and issued a command to them. 'Return to your homes, everyone.' is what I said. What I didn't expect was for the woman to recognize my little trick as the power that it really was. Most surprising of all, she wasn't even surprised I had come to her aid. That was my first time meeting Nancy, and although at the time I was confused, I could tell we were two of a kind deep down. Something just clicked together then." Overview Of Life:

14th-12th Century BC: Mycenaean Greece
3rd Century BC-4th Century AD: Roman Republic/Empire
8th-9th Century A.D.: Scandinavia/Denmark
11th-16th Century A.D.: Italy
17th-18th Century A.D.: Kingdom Of Scotland
19th Century A.D.: England/Yorkshire

Extras
Character Quote: Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst Theme Song: Anything Else: Latest post as of writing [sub]*By submitting this CS in its completion I am stating I have read all the rules for this Rp and am agreeing to follow them to the fullest with respect and courtesy. They have a very work-oriented relationship, and he's never really had reason to try going much further beyond that.
💜The Cards 💕 "Like OMG, Nancy and I are like *this*" Nancy is the first Emendator he ever met, and their personalities and interests mesh very well together. He spends much of his time not doing emendator things with her. As far as the "like a family" tag goes, it applies most aptly to this duo who are like brother and sister. Brother and sister that look more like (grand)father and (grand)daughter.
💛The Hat 💛 "I enjoy our talks, but I think spending all his time in war might have colored his perception of his environment." Gil is a really useful person to have around, and is also quite an interesting person to speak to, being the oldest of the emendators by several centuries. However, he still feels a bit like a "stranger" due to how new he is, relatively speaking. There's a lot Gio doesn't know about the man and is looking forward to finding out more.
🌓The Watch 🌓 "Cogito ergo sum." The Watch has never really had a clear image of himself in his head to have a relationship. He is not good. He is not evil. Truly a beauty that shall be missed." Drem could be a rather annoying chap to be around, but he was still fun to be around, and Nancy quite liked him as well. But that doesn't really matter now, what with Drem being dead and all.

Paradoxes

🌓Alicia Gonzalez 👋 "Honestly, I feel bad for her. Being stuck as a greeter for her entire existence as a Paradox has got to be extraordinarily dull." Alicia's kind of a hassle. Sure she has skills and know-how, but her attitude can be an obstacle to interacting with her. Her assumption that she can be a serious contender in the centuries long prank war between him and Nancy by taking part in it at all shows the amount of human hubris she possesses.
🌓 Sophia Harris 🌓 "Out of all the Paradoxes I've trained this batch, she has left the least impression upon me." She's fine enough. He doesn't really think about her unless she's directly related to the topic at hand. And even then it's an iffy prospect
🌓 James Grady 🌓 "I don't believe that he likes me." And Gio doesn't really care either. The admiration of Paradoxes isn't really something he cares about. James has potential. All the other Emendators think he's a ticking timebomb, but Gio has full confidence that James can learn how to use his faults to his advantage.
🌓 Faith Masters 🌓 "She has drive." And drive is good for a Paradox. You can't send someone with no fire to do missions and expect them to get done properly at all. The issue is that her egocentrism gets in the way of her own progress.
👋 Andromeda Aldrich 👋 "She's quite fun." Having someone smart and eager to learn around is always such a pleasure, and you don't get that when it's only other Emendators and Elder Paradoxes around.
🌓 Alexandra Andonova 🌓 "She might end up forming an attachment to me. Let's hope that doesn't end up being the case." Gio doesn't share everyone else's immediate distaste of Alexandra. Maybe it's because he spent essentially 0 time around her while she was normal, but even Nancy's complaints weren't really enough to sway him. Of course he wasn't going to stop her or chastise her. The fact that Alex managed to so quickly piss off Nancy was something to behold, but any disrespect from her or other young Paradoxes was like a child calling him a doodoo head. It just carried no weight. He can see the potential she has within her, it's just up to her whether she can realize it.
🌓 Bartholomew Rosecliff 🌓 "Subservient." Young Bartholomew seems to allow himself to get swept away with whatever anyone else he's with decides to do. And if he does make some sort of disagreement, it's generally from a very short-sighted perspective. Not exactly the kind of person Gio has any kind of appreciation for, but he merely thinks little of the boy rather than any form of active dislike. He still has the chance to impress The Watch.
