Just came up with a character who I think will be one of my favorites and may be interested in a battle with her if there are any takers. It's the most thought I put into a power and it seems pretty unique if I do say so myself. She can manipulate reality- (fights off angry mob shouting no reality manipulation) with a lot of restrictions. I was inspired by one of my favorite games, Gravity Rush, and greatly altered the powers from there. She can see the fabric of reality if she concentrates, so it's like she can see glowing veins running through objects, even air. She can stick her hand, say, into a steel door while interacting with the fabric of it's reality and then tear it apart by tearing the string, or passing through objects. This takes a couple of seconds, so if someone slashed at her with a sword she couldn't grab it's fabric and snap the sword in time for it to not cut her, at best she could deflect the fabric back away from her to try and lesson the blow like a forcefield. Some material has super powerful reality fabric where she can't mess with it hardly at all, such as if you say your character has some legendary sword of wachamacallit, and from her setting likely some kind of rare ore akin to her version of kryptonite (which for the purposes of our fight, maybe they know about this fact and have some with them). Powerful living beings can resist her more easily as well so she can't win every grapple by tearing them apart with a thought, though she could do so to lessor beings if she desired, but she dislikes this heavily. She can heal wounds by rejoining fabric back together, fly by solidifying the fabric of the air underneath her briefly, grasp at things using the same concept only solidifying around her target object, but she must first touch any fabric she intends to manipulate while her power is active and the effect would wear off once it leaves a certain radius. Things like the ground do count as one object as long as they are of similar consistency as far as her power is concerned, being made of the same fabric, but if she were to go through dirt and hit a rock her power would stop there. This means she could cause the ground below someone to fall to pieces by being in contact with the same ground as them within a radius but she couldn't send her power up into their body and attack them directly. It's very hard for her to grasp someone through the fabric of the air, as traveling long distances is always hard even through the same fabric, but also air is moving around a lot so it messes her accuracy up tremendously so takes great concentration. People can also overpower her grip on reality the same as if she was physically trying to restrain them. The way her powers work allows for cool weaknesses, such as for example someone using a powerful fan to mess with the air so she can't grip the air around them, surrounding themselves in a smog that counts as different fabric, etc. Guns can of course kill her but her power level is high enough where she can deflect bullets with slight pain, so a valid threat would be able to swing a sword with more power than bullets to damage her through her reality shield or if weaker, taking her off guard or getting creative. Any takers? I'm trying to picture what she'll look like so she's not quite ready, but is my main priority as far as new characters are concerned right now while I'm really excited about her. I don't want to take her power too far so she probably has trouble combining fabric so she can't just keep healing forever. Could be funny if her head pops off and she just slaps it back on, but this might just be a dream sequence of her doing so and it wouldn't work in real life.
