Fingers curling underneath her unconscious body; nails now grimy with dirt. Their chest felt tight. Their breathing a little laborious. Rin sighed, but spoke in an even tone. "Well that went miserably. I thought Anu would be able to at least take one hit. Hm." That was that. They'd just have to try harder next time. The road to victory isn't paved without hardships. Rin knew this. Still, a nagging feeling over the short reign of their undefeated streak still pestered in the back of their head. Placing a goodnight kiss on Anusobeket's head, Rin whispered to their Totodile. "I know you tried your best. We'll get better." One flash of red light later, and Anusobeket was back within her pokéball. Rin looked up to find Osajyin slowly trotting back from their curt chase after the Furret. "No luck?" The Leaf Pokémon shook his head. "Yeah, she's a speedy one that's for sure." Getting up, Rin unzipped their coat to stretch out their binder which had been the actually cause of their chest and breathing troubles earlier. All of the upper body exercise of today was really making wearing it more strenuous. By the time Rin finished, they had already made their way back to the beach with Osajyin rolling over their pile of sticks to a pre-picked spot on the beach. Looking over his work, Rin discovered Osajyin had caught a grand total of one baby fish. Admirable for his first try, but Rin let him know right away they wouldn't be able to make dinner with that. For conciliation, Rin patted him on the back of his neck telling him how they'd teach him how to fish properly one day; just like how they had learned from their aunt Mary. Besides, it's not like Rin hadn't packed any rations. They'd just divvy them up later. Seeing as no Krabby or Corphish had invaded their little camp, it looked like Olotah had done a good job as well. With congratulations out of the way, Rin got to setting up their stick and tarp tent. When it was all done, Rin stood back to look over their work, and dusted off their hands. Osaja and Olo came over as well. "Not great, but it'll fit us." A fire came back to Rin's eyes. "That is if we don't catch too many more pokémon, but I fully intend to!" The night was early, and even if it wasn't Rin had a mission to fulfill. They were going to catch pokémon until they couldn't anymore at every chance they got. That Furret from earlier? Just a lesson in humility. Whether they'd learn that lesson was another matter entirely; for the moment Rin had other concerns. Returning Olotah to his pokéball, Rin called out for Osajyin to follow as they ran back to bushes of the shore's treeline; searching for tall grass full of Pokémon. "Seven-Hundred-Ninety-Eight, here we come!" Who knows if that Furret would still follow, or maybe Rin really had seen the last of her slinking figure. Only time would tell. [@Balthazar007]
