The predicted "end" has come and gone. As many have predicted, the world as we all knew it ended. It didn't happen in one day, and neither was it one thing. The ice caps melted and the sea rushed in, so people fled inward. Bombs rained down from the skies, but people found shelter. Governments fell and order collapsed, so people adapted to the new hostile world or died. Regardless of the many tragedies, humankind proved to be a real son-of-a-bitch to kill. Gangs, cults, and factions rose, fighting each other for power and control. Among these groups was the League of Bastards, a cult/gang where each member was ultimately out for themselves, but all dedicated their time to perfecting themselves in combat and other skills, thus achieving an edge over the other gangs. You awake in the basement of a church, lit by many candles. All you remember before now is being tied and executed with a few others in a church graveyard by people wearing ornate masks. Well...you remember that, and that you are a Bastard. The people of this place built upon it gradually, upwards and outwards, until a great metropolis lay from the plains to the East all the way to the foot of the mountains to the west. It had become quite a forest of tall, glass and concrete towers one could easily get lost in. Even after the fall of civilization as it was known, the city remains, though ruined by the war zone the streets have become. Today, gangs and cults struggle for control of the city. The many old churches that sit at the foot of the tall buildings, though contested for by the other scumbags, were once meeting places for the League of Bastards. This group kept to themselves and had no interest in the state of the world, only wanting to help out its members. Over time, however, as things got worse, the goals and ideals became twisted. The members were taught to not only survive, but thrive in the world they foresaw. They became the League of Bastards, focused on improving themselves through training and study to get the most for themselves. "Don't try to save the world, but enjoy its slow decline" they would say, as they grew more powerful. After the End, they grew powerful, as each member was at their peak and they had stockpiled enough weapons for an army (mostly illegally). The name "Bastard," as well as their snake symbol they wore as tattoos, triggered fear in the hearts of almost anyone in the city. Eventually, however, many were slaughtered. When you die you lose your weapons where you died, but shouldn't be a problem as weapons are plentiful in the City of Towers. 4. Despite somehow being revived each time you die, you are a human. Humans don't have supernatural abilities, or cat ears, or anything else crazy like that. 5. Even if you as a player know something, your character doesn't know anything that your character wouldn't know. 6. Don't control other people's characters. 7. Don't time skip without my permission 8.
