————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ▸ Name:
Ichimi ichizoku
▸ Village of Residence:
Wandering Clan
▸ Origins:
Mount Jofuku 徐福山
▸ Clan compound:
The Air Nomads of Konoha first made their residential stay in the Jofuku Forest, Gradual Good Fortune Forest, or lost forest. Venturing further into the forest led to the discovery of Mount Jofuku, the perfect place to create their settlement. At top the highest point of the mountain or the peak, the air nomads constructed the one and only monastery in which the monks would live, train, and work.
x The Monastery
Leading from the forest to the entrance of the spiraling monastery is a cascade of steps required to climb for those unskilled in the use of Futon. The thousands of steps needed to be scaled to reach the monastery is to hone the ninja of body and mind to encapsulate the endurance and grit needed to ascend to the higher plane. The monastery is the home and hearth of the Monks lifeblood. Within it compounds it houses most of everything the monks could need. Comprised of a medical ward, a mess hall, and a place for meditation, and sleeping quarters for every monk. Any amenities necessary to house the hundreds of monks who live there, is contained within the monastery. While it is a singular monastery, other buildings had been erected still attached to the main monastery, simply raising the height and architecture; connected walkways and paths supplement the separation. Beyond that, there are two key components that allow for the Monastery to stand out as a Wind based clan. The Monastery is courted and filled with dozens of pipe and tubes that range from small to massively large to encompass the passing winds through the tubes. The wind that moves through these tubes create a large harmonizing sonnet of sound that fills the compound. It can also be used as a security system to alarm the monks of any foreign invasion within the forest. The leaves and the wind are homogeneous constructs of nature. The falling leaves and wind that passes through them allow the Monks to sense any happenings within the forest. The tubes can also carry messages through sound and transport them to the necessary individuals or quarters that are in adherence to the dictation. Lastly, there is one massive brick door at the back of the monastery with no handle or visible cracks. There is simply a singular lock on the center of the door, a large circular sphere to imitate the sun and the spirit of Asura, while three clouds move clockwise in rotation around the sun. The Clouds have a porous entrance in order to allow wind to pass through, the exact amount of wind and pressure must be applied by three monks in order to unlock the door and have it rise leading to the infamous Library.
x The Library
Once the lock has been open one is greeted by a spiral staircase that leads to a flat base with simply a lever attached to the siding illuminated by a single torch at the top and bottom of the stair case. Upon opening the moon door, the opposite of the sun at the lock, the sliding door opens revealing the hollowed out mountain the monks had been excavating since ushering their settlement. An entire library filled with cases of scrolls lined the hollowed out mountain but inversed to the world. Utilizing the ability to manipulate and completely master wind, the Hikki (Temple Monks) would need to fly down to the inverse library to conduct their research and recorded history, thus making the knowledge of the world difficult to traverse for any foreign invaders. Another anomaly to the library was the ability for the scrolls to fly and move themselves to change the order of their information with every update to the shinobi world. The most prized and taboo scrolls are locked away in a constant rotating wind prison guarded by a specialized wind summon unknown to most.
x Trial of Wind
With the two main elements of the compound introduced there are two remaining components that complement the compound. The Trial of wind encompasses the beliefs of the peaceful monk and the properties of wind itself. Being very peaceful and poetic in their beliefs, mastering wind requires training focuses on avoiding resistance. As the gatekeepers of wind and one of 4 pivotal natural energies of the world, monks must move like the wind, they need to be evasive, since monk philosophy tends to avoid conflict or violence. However, with the rising period of Sengoku Jidai the separation of temple and warrior monk has been created to bypass avoiding conflict in order to protect the clan’s longevity. The first trial of the wind focuses on embodying the properties of a leaf and experience the bond between leaf and wind. The trial makes up three separate grounds to house the examinations outside of the monastery.

Trial of the Leaf: As wind release in the Ichimi clan is regarded as a highly defensive discipline, it is essential to build up the instinct to avoid and evade conflict as well as to follow the path of least resistance. To do this, gates are used. Futon is used to set the gates in motion, either by a master or by a fellow pupil who has completed the exercise. The goal of the exercise is to maneuver through the gates without touching them; the pupil is required to learn to switch directions at a moment's notice in order to get to the other side. Forcing one's way through the panels will result in them hitting the pupil while they attempt to traverse it. Mastering the fluidity of a leaf is essential in this exercise.
Trial of Terrain: As Ichimi monks move like the wind, they need to be evasive, since monk philosophy tends to avoid conflict or violence. To achieve this, an obstacle course is used to develop a shinobi’s evasive capabilities, consisting of suspended sand bags to avoid, a rope to cross, several balancing posts to navigate, and finally a large rock wall to climb.
Trial of Meditation: Wind/Air is the element of freedom; therefore, it is necessary for anyone who wishes to master it to get into a mindset of freedom. Meditation is meant to help the pupil allow his or her spirit to wander, like the air. It is supposed to be simple, with no chance of doing anything wrong. Breathing techniques teaches the pupil to keep warmth and to gain proper breath control. Upon clearing these trials one becomes a full fledge Warrior monk and Shinobi of the Ichimi Clan, however one will not be dubbed Master of Wind or next Clan head until complete mastery and control has been obtained, even after that one must successfully create their own customary techniques to achieve Grandmaster rank and add to the jutsu passed down from generation to generation.

x Garden of Asura
Lastly is the Garden of Asura, the final piece to the puzzle. On the opposite edge of temple is a hanging the garden filled with overgrowth and vegetation as far as the eye could see. Gardening teaches responsibility and growth to monks over time. Each monk is assigned a plant to nurture and oversee parallel growth to the monk as they complete the transition into either Temple monk or Warrior Monk. Not only does this act as a secondary trial, but the garden serves as the primary area used to cultivate the famous Jofuku Flower used for medical practices and knowledge. Multiple other plants with healing properties are grown within the garden and helps serve at advancing the use of medical ninjutsu among Hikki (Temple Monks).

▸ Clan specialties:
x Zen Mastery: Able to focus mind, body, and spirit. For the Ichimi clan there was no other way of life that the path of the monk. The first days of men before ninshu for this particular sect was led by a young and compelling man named Rohan. Seeing all the poverty in the world and how people managed to remain happy with what they owned and have such discipline inspired the young boy. If he could achieve Zen mastery while spreading his knowledge all while creating a stable living environment for these people, his life would be complete. And so began the culmination of members into his group and the development of a small congregation that followed their charismatic leader. The development of Zen and the practice of religious asceticism bore fruit, the only thing missing was a monastic living situation for the rising clan to practice and devote their lives to becoming monks. The very definition of wanders, the monks looked for refugee. This was their first encounter with one of the two son of the great Sage, Asura. During his mission to the village decreed by his father, Rohan and his clan had come across the young carefree and loving child. Keeping Asura and Taizo Company, they discovered the mysteriously thriving village that housed an enormous God Tree. Aiding in the digging of a new water source for the villagers sick from the God Tree’s Saplings, Rohan became obsessed with the virility and candor of the son of the sage. The amount of kindness that overflowed out of the boy and his sheer willingness to work for a better future for a people he barely knew inspired Rohan even more. The young windseeker in addition to the villagers were taught a miniscule amount of ninshu to aid their efforts. This was when Rohan first fell the chakra network in his body come to life. The fire that ignited in his body felt like a warm lush wave of natural energy that fueled his body, made him feel alive. Of course this planted the seed that would give way to his bloodline technique once the Age of Ninshu would be introduced. For now, Rohan took this sign of good will as a testament to all he had accomplished for his people and an act of Karma. Agreeing with his platform and firmly believing in the pure hearted actions of Asura, they took their stance in supporting his claim for the rightful heir to the throne. This was only strengthen after hearing the atrocities committed by his brother Indra. Only forgiveness and meditation coupled with prayer, could the hope of repentance and clarity for Indra.

Age of Ninshu ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————— [sup]The period of time where the Rikudō no Shinsen introduced Ninshu to the world.[/sup]
The news spread quickly of the death and passing of Hagoromo, but where one life ended another began. The birth of Ninshu in all the lands was passed down to the sole responsibility of his son Asura. Despite their best efforts to stay neutral and a peaceful people, the Ichimi clan learned of the news and were elated their proverbial leader was chosen as the next Sage. The roots of dissent could be felt by Rohan however, knowing these turn of events would lead to the curse of hatred being born into his brother Indra. For now, it was first learning about the gift he received back before during the God Tree. Rohan was much older now and quite a bit wiser, when Asura first began his plight he found the nomadic monk people and shared with them his greatest gift. Their bond was quite strong and instead of a deity he was seen as the pillar of the world, a man that would only be born once every so often, a star in his own right. Rohan took the teachings and integreation of all things Ninshu with open arms, his clan was also quite thankful for this joyous occasion. With a new found way of seeing the world the monks and Rohan began to meditate and learn to control their gift sent from Asura. Pledging themselves to his teachings as well they decided to carry on his knowledge and become more in tune with the knowledge of the world, just as he did while he set out to spread Ninshu to the rest of the world. Putting themselves in charge and sole proprietors of history they decided to follow in his path as lore keepers or librarians. This would only run its course after they unlocked their hidden potential. After hearing of the great clans such as the Uchiha who guarded fire and the Senju who guarded earth, Rohan was left wondering if they were destined for greatness. Indeed they were, finally during a training session Rohan was first to discover the ability to use wind chakra and create burst of wind from his hands. Relishing in his celebration the other monks work just as arduously to unlock their abilities. This was the next sign on their path of fate, the sage had entrusted the peaceful and prodigious monks to be the guardians of wind. This only left water to be found. During this time, the clan was large enough and trained well enough to settle down and build up their library, over the next few years they managed to settle down in the Jofuku forest and make their home in the first monastery of the ninja world a top the highest mountain located within the forest. There they practiced and honed their skills, during this time Rohan unlocked his Kekkei Genkai, which made the other more resolute in choosing him as their leader and great successor to their clan. With tensions rising and the dawn of war looming over them, Rohan thought it was wise to establish a two caste system of equal worth within his clan. First there would be the Sōhei (Warrior Monks) who adhered more to the practices of the Shinobi and were less lenient in their appearance and more accosted to fighting out of self-defense and preservation than for the sake of fighting. The Hikki (Temple Monks) would be in charge of medical ninjutsu and being the scribes of the world. Towards the end of the Age of Ninshu were Sengoku Jidai had a death grip on the future, needless wanton battle was left of the vernacular of the peaceful monks. Instead Rohan sent one monk from the Hikki to travel across every known village and clan to acquire knowledge and record their history with the rise of ninshu while supplementing their work by teaching each clan the basics of medical ninjutsu in order to quell the amount of death and loss. The monks however were unable to take sides or give one clan more knowledge than the others. Their sole purpose was to act as a pillar of neutrality and educate the world while educating themselves. Rohan and the rest of the Sōhei practiced relentlessy until they became honed warriors, very small in numbers only meant they were more specialized and proficient in becoming the shield and sword for their clan. Battle was on the Horizon and Rohan knew what was to come, one good man is worth a thousand soldiers.

Sengoku Jidai ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————— [sup]Warring Clan Period[/sup]
Unable to watch the world around him burn to the ground and the loss of innocent life succumb to the avarice of man and the evils that came with it, Kazuma took matters into his own hands as his father before him instructed him to. Many attempted to walk into the mysterious Jofuku forest in hopes of good fortune as the name suggests, but quickly through word of mouth issued that the forest was haunted. Hoping to utilize other forms of effective neutralization before combat became an option. The monks used wind to scare off intruders and were heavily effective in tracking who and what came into the forest by using the leaves that fell from the trees through the means of wind. When smoke and mirrors wasn’t enough and clans began to climb the thousands of step in order to reach the monastery, combat was the only option left. Death, death was inevitable in a time of strife and war. Kazuma knew he would have to repent for taking another’s life, but that was survival. The Sōhei descended from the mountaintop like a large clouds and quickly eradicated the ninja who threatened their land. Highly condensed bladed weapons seemed to do the job quickest. There was no pride in taking hostages as they were firm believers in abstaining from torture. As the reputation of the forest grew and clans grew less bold on entering and sieging the monastery, Kazuma couldn’t help but feel compelled to offer his services to the world. What Would Asura Do? Of course he would help and put others before him. Like he ordered with the Hikki he did so with the Sōhei, he took a four man cell while the rest stayed behind and led the highly trained group to the outside world. The annexation and abuse of smaller clans could be felt and seen all around the young Wind Seeker which made his heart ache. Silencing their movements and moving nimbly like the wind the group of subterfuge worked its way through enemy forces like a passing wind. Before they could tell what was happening, life was sapped from their eyes. Rohan sent any refugees or wounded to the monastery in order to have some protection. This was the period in which he experienced another prominent clan, one who seemed to feed off of fear and sorrow, under the moniker and ‘diety’ known as Indra, the Sābanto. The two clans met on several occasions, but Kazuma mostly aiming to remain under the veil of secrecy and remain hidden to the other clans. Much to his dismay he could feel the fruition of what could be a long standing rivalry between the two. It was clear Asura had been taken with the Ichimi and Indra with the Sābanto. So why did Asura give them such power? The question was rhetorical as Kazuma already knew the answer. Unscheduled fated meetings between the two died down once an opposing clan has executed their leader. There was no place for Kazuma in this quest for revenge spurred on by the Sābanto nor an alliance with the rivaling clan. The Ichimi simply returned back to the Monastery and continued their relief and recovery work for the time being. The birth of peace couldn’t come fast enough, but Kazuma needed to become the next pillar of the world if he wanted to see peace among all clans, how to accomplish that? He didn’t quite know.
