Well how I read it was the death of a best friend or a loss in some way and family also found a horrible fate. There is hope that some might not be dead since memory is what would say for sure but if no memory is to be found then how do you know what is real and what is not. Memory can be what defines you and makes things a definite so without something so precious how can you tell who you even are? You would be you but a different version if you cannot see where you have been.

Was anyone ever there? Was it all in the head? Or is there some sanity in the madness? 


That is just what I take from it anyway.
