The 1st of the preliminary fights was between a pair of sorry looking goblins named after a distinguishing accessory they bore. The odds were a cool 3 to 1 in favor of the goblin with the red cap. Deciding to make a safe bet, Durwith placed a 4 gp bet on Red Cap's victory. It turned out to be a smart move, as soon after the fight had begun, Red Cap butchered his opponent with the same murderous fervor as the fey creature it was named for. With the fight won by the goblin he backed, Durwith's bet was returned to him along with an additional 4 gold pieces. Stowing 6 of the 8 gold pieces in his coin pouch, Durwith waited for the odds of the next fight to be announced.
