I think that may be easiest, but it'd admittedly be less enjoyable for players as I don't want people waiting super long :/

As for your other question, yes! The parties would be joining together at parts of the story that make sense. Their decisions would also affect the other group. I'd also be completely okay with rotating players around for a chance to interact with new characters. I'm open to suggestions
