With her offer of assistance accepted, Nex quickly showed the two strangers out, not wanting to hear the kind of conversation that would be had in her absence. It was a lot to consider and it wasn't her place to pass judgement, merely to help guide others as needed. Nex led them along, deciding to only add bits of information about the Enterprise sparingly since she could tell the two were a bit guarded and likely didn't have a nagging interest in the ship or its facts. Nex could pick up a level of uncertainty but that was to be expected given how Gaheris and Rommie encountered their ship so suddenly. Upon reaching the sector of spare quarters, Nex showed them inside Gaheris' quarters, gesturing to the one across the barren hall which would house Rommie. Looking to Rommie who seemed in awe of the simple replicator. "These have been standard for hundreds of years now, they can replicate food or tools and we even have one that is slightly different in which it transports a person from one location to another." Nex quickly explained, not wanting to get into the complicated history and research that the Federation had done going all the way back to the 22'd century. "Whatever you'd like to eat, it should be able comply. If you have a recipe or can describe something it doesn't have in its bank, it does its best to accommodate you." Nex knew how leery Gaheris was but there was little she could do to ease his doubts. Both sides had reservations but in order to quell them, Nex believed in giving trust and then seeing if it was well placed, rather than refuse to give others a chance. She glanced to Worf who was still agitated by the whole surprise of Gaheris and Rommie. Not to mention the anomalies previously encountered. The day was not shy in serving up surprises. "Lastly, should you require assistance or need to contact someone, simply ask. The ship has a computer program that acts as a database and means of wireless communication. However, since you're both guests, the computer will withhold security information if inquired. In fact, a lot of information will be unavailable to you but general information should be granted." Nex told them as she turned and headed for the door. "And if you need a drink or just want to mingle, Ten Forward is a bar where a lot of people go when they're off-duty. It has a great lounge and sometimes live music." With that, Nex smiled before she moved her head, signalling for Worf to also take his leave with her. She didn't need the grump scowling at their guests and making matters worse between them. Now heading back to her own quarters, Nex was ready to deal with her own duties. ~ ~ ~ Once the room was clear, Picard rose briefly as he considered the notion presented to them. In all of his time spent exploring the stars, Riker had learned that anything was possible, no matter how crazy it seemed. Still, to fathom such things was not something he wanted to consider unless they had proof. For him, ideas were intangible and needed to be grounded in reality. In truth. He sighed as his friend took his seat again. "If we're in unfamiliar territory then we need to make sure of it first hand. And if their...Commonwealth can help, we may need it." Riker noted. "I do agree though, they're hiding something which may or not prove dangerous but there cannot be secrets between us if we're going to assist one another." "It's clear Gaheris is hiding something but the extent and context cannot be speculated. It's best we hear directly from him, what he's keeping from us. I'd rather not make Rommie turn on him and give us that information, that would raise a lot of red flags and not do much in our favor. I think I can talk to Rommie though, she seemed somewhat receptive to me. I think Beverly may be able to talk to Gaheris as well. Maybe she has some pull with him." He speculated before he got up. "We should talk to Data and Geordi before we send Gaheris their way, make sure they know the situation fully." Riker wasn't looking to put pressure on the engineers or make them just as guarded as Gaheris appeared to be but with Data, it was better to talk things out than to let him assume something. Data could be too blunt for his own good sometimes. "I think tomorrow morning I'll ask that Beverly take a look at Gaheris' injury and then have Data show him around. In the meantime I can pick Rommie's brain a little bit. I'm sure Nex can confirm their ambivalence and maybe some rest will do everyone some good. I do think it's a priority that we figure out where exactly we are first. Maybe tomorrow Data and Gaheris will be able to do just that." He said.
