Already got this boi approved
Name: Louis Martin Hugo
Louis is a handsome, rugged young man; He stands at an average height for his age (5'11) with a heavier build than the average boy (205lb). He is impressively muscular, especially when compared to the often lean forms of his peers, although it is clear his muscle-mass was formed for strength and labor, rather than show. Over-all, he looks like a rather plain trade-worker, with the exception of his eyes, which are a uniform milky-white, indicating his blindness. Due to his condition, he often carries a "probing-cane," a long, collapsable, white rod he uses to help avoid bumping into things. His dress is a bit different from the academics and military of the academy, often choosing to wear neutral-toned and rugged work clothing; His wardrobe consists of denim and steel-toed boots, with little variation. However, he isn't without a sense of humor, and can almost always be seen with a pair of protective welding-goggles either hanging from his neck or strapped to his forehead.
Age: 17 Species: Human Gender: Male Occupation: First Year Student Personality: Louis tends to have an air of Stoicism, which is largely due to his blindness and comfort with silence. However, once he opens his mouth, any sense of sage wisdom seems to vanish. In reality he's a simple, albeit charming, young man. He enjoys a good bit of banter, some rough-housing, and a bit of flirting on the regular. However, he's an extremely blunt realist. He won't dance around someone's feelings, nor allow himself to be treated specially because of his disability. In fact, he tends to be a bit rude towards people that treat him as if he's "delicate," and can be a bit difficult to get along with at the start. Especially with people that treat him differently. Surprisingly though, he isn't in the least bit hypocritical with his logic; he demands to be criticized on his behavior or actions regardless of his disability, even in situations one would expect him to ask for a bit of patience. Biography: Louis was not born blind, but was made blind, by "witnessing" something few others can speak of escaping. Louis was born into a fairly small frontier town on the western edges of the Unoctocan Empire's borders, a town by the name of Chesroe. His family was made of farmers, and given the state of the land in that region, their options regarding fertile land were limited; it was because of this they lived a short distance from the town itself, on a small, impromptu farm that the family had built themselves. Life was simple for a time, as Louis was too young to do much of the heavier work around the farm he helped his mother and older sister around the house for the most part. He was taught how to clean, cook, and sew alongside the women of his family, and would be expected to do so until he was old enough to start doing some of the harder labour - when he turned seven or eight years old. He would help around the house, making sure that his Father and older brother would be able to rest and relax after their long hours in the fields and stables. During the fall and winter, his family would make frequent trips to the nearby frontier town to trade crops and meats for a variety of supplies needed to keep them warm throughout the colder seasons. It was during one of these trips that the event which lead to Louis's blindness occurred. It had been during the Winter of Louis's second year working the fields with his Father and Brother; when he was twelve years old. The family trips to the nearby town had been restricted in frequency lately, as a flu -or something similar- had began to spread around the town. People were getting sick all over the place, and it was concerning Louis's mother and father. As Louis had been a bit sickly as a younger child, (and because he was old enough to look after himself for the relatively short trip) his parents had opted to leave him at the Farm while they went into town, hoping to avoid the difficulties that came with a sick child in the winter. The last thing Louis remembers seeing was a bright light begin to descend from the sky towards the town, before everything around him became dark. After the Incident, Louis was taken in by a fellow family of Farmers that hadn't witnessed the event, but found Louis blindly wandering their fields for a short bit of time; but his inability to work for his food made it impossible for the family to afford caring for him, and he was taken in by the State. He moved from foster-house to foster-house for a while, seemingly unable to find a family that was willing to support a "broken" child. During this time he discovered his magical preference, and was taught by state tutors how to read braille. Eventually, primarily due to the lack of families willing or able to foster him indefinitely, he was "given" to Mordhaben's, where he could stay after "aging out" of the present foster system.
