"Hey you, with the Pichu!" 

Makoto's head immediately perked up in response. The source was a boy of about his age. "Could you send me a hand? I got in a bit over my head over here!"

took him some time to realize that this boy and his two Pokemon were engaging the two titanic Totem Pokemon at once. The Totem Raticate turns to face Makoto, causing him to wail in surprise. "Waah!" 

Pichu goes on all fours and tiny Sparks of electricity start leaking from her cheek pouches. Taking this as a challenge, the enormous rodent lets out a booming battle cry. Upon hearing their leader's battle cry, all of its Ratatta cronies stopped ganging up on the other Trainer's Noibat and rushed to their leader's aid. 

"Pichu, use Thunder Shock!" Pichu shot a small Ray of electricity aimed at the Totem Raticate, but before the attack could land, one of the smaller Ratatta jumped in the way and took the attack instead. "Wow, these guys are pretty loyal for a bunch of dirty rats..."

Right then, Makoto noticed that the other Trainer's Noibat was standing by behind the enemy Raticate. "Hey!" he exclaimed, trying to catch his partner's attention. "I've got the Ratatta distracted! If you're going to land an attack, I think now would be the best time!"
