Is good, but you have to bear in mind the movie pre-dates inexpensive cell-phones being literally everywhere by nearly a decade.

Later movies fix this while wrecking just about everything else. So stick with the original and maybe the Animatrix if you feel like diving into the lore. How the franchise ends should have been a non-issue.
