While I dont want to take [i]too[/i] much from Legend of Zelda, I very much used a lot of the 'Hylian outfit' from breath of the wild to describe Emil's current look. I imagine in my head the triangular marks and the designs on the hood mark him as one from Lumoise (or at least the Kanan region of Lumoise) the idea is for him to appear less like a mage- because magic seems to be very hit or miss for the people in Caradia- and more like just a traveler.
