If you think about it though, that's how most people are. Most people don't go out of their way to become friends with everyone they meet. Anthony isnt the type of person that feels the need for friends, so that's why he basically ignored her. You also have to remember that he's a business man, so of course he's going to pay more attention when there's a possibility of gain.
