The way I picture the ability as of right now she has neither the strength or knowledge of what we would consider truly powerful creatures like Werewolves or such, right now she can only shift to creatures like dogs or birds, but yes while in those forms she would gain their normal abilities like an Eagles eyesight and such. She can't hold then for to long though, she averages about a hour before having to shift back and being to drained to try again for hours. I figured as she learns and grows she can shift to more powerful things, for longer and maybe have access to their abilities, but never as powerful they are.
