Hi all! I'm new to the website and figured i'd throw up an interest check. First off, I go by Starlight or Amelia and I've been roleplaying for a loooong time. I love delving into the inner conflicts of our characters and how they interact with the world around them and their external struggles. I'll be slowly listing my characters with a short profile in my thread here. Please feel free to send me a PM or post here in the thread if you have a question! I've listed some stuff here that I do and don't like to see in RPs. Yes! ♦ Fantasy (including urban fantasy) ♦ Science-Fiction ♦ Cyberpunk ♦ Historical settings ♦ LGBT/Queer characters ♦ Humor ♦ Romance - I happily play FxF and MxM without problems and generally tend to prefer one of those two options to MxF but I'm flexible overall. ♦ Adult stuff (winkwonk) ♦ Fantastical characters in mundane situations ♦ Fandom RP (Current fandoms of interest listed below) ♦ Anime stuff (sometimes) ♦ IC Drama ♦ Adventure ♦ Clear ooc communication! I like to be friends with the people I RP with so if we chat about shared fandoms or whatever, it makes me happy. Also if something we're playing isn't working for you, just say so. No hard feelings if it doesn't work out, right? ♦ High casual/advanced - I usually write a paragraph or two, sometimes 3 or 4 depending on the scene, setting and actions and also tend to do some introspective stuff. I love details and quality writing ♦ Grammar and spelling - We all make typos, but please be consistent in your writing ♥ No! ♦ Rude/pushy people ♦ Abusive language OOC (slurs, etc. I swear like a sailor so I don't mind some F bombs and the like) ♦ Under 18 partners (sorry!) ♦ Flat characters ♦ Godmodding Fandoms! Putting my current most active fandoms in here for anyone who'd be interested in that sort of thing. Not my only ones, but the ones I'm actively happy to RP from. Open to others of course, so feel free to ask. Star Wars - I have like three different characters for this setting already. Fate/Whatever - On a big Fate kick recently and have a few characters I'd be comfortable playing Mass Effect - Love the setting so I'd be happy to dust off an old character or figure out a new one. Lord of the Rings - I have an orc OC for this setting that I'd love to use again. Samples! Some samples of my writing below so you know what you're getting into!
Cailean. The young blood of his family, destined, they said, to one day rule over all of his family’s vast estates and to be the future upon which his family fortune rested. Of course no one had asked him if that’s what he wanted out of life. He’d been raised in oppressive, stifling fashion. Everything he did was determined for him. His teachers, his lessons, his clothes, his friends. He hated it. Had always hated it. So he had seized on an excuse to travel and get away from his family as soon as he was old enough to reasonably do so. He was a youth, barely eighteen or nineteen and a slender slip of a boy dressed in all the fine clothing that a youth of his stature would be expected to wear. And jewelry of course. Rings and necklaces and even glinting emerald studs set into each ear to match his brilliant eyes. As a young man of the noble class, he had studied swordplay, archery, how to wield a lance and spear but his effort had been half-hearted at best and he had no reasonable expectation that he would be able to best any of the pirates unless he was lucky. This was supposed to have been a quick sail through the warm seas to the port of Ylgos where he was supposedly to spend the next half a year with his uncle, his mother’s brother, one of the prominent merchants of the city. He would be free of the never-ending scrutiny of his family and perhaps he could at last enjoy himself and do something he wanted to do. Naturally the pirates had ruined everything. His ears flick and his tail curls in annoyance. “You can’t do this to me!” The words leave his mouth before he can think better of them and he begins shoving his way to the front of the crowd, heedless of the horrified looks some of the other passengers are giving him. “Don’t you have any idea who I am, you filth?”

Parvana stifled a giggle behind one hand. Not proper for someone like her to be laughing at the new (if temporary) master of the house. She manages to still her amusement and speaks with an air of gravitas and authority that might be surprising to Fawke. Her hands clap together once in a sharp report. "You have heard Master Fawke. Everything will proceed as normal. Mind yourselves because even if he doesn't know any better, I do. Though you are all skilled and experienced so I expect that shan't be a problem. Now, all of you back to your places. There's always work to do!" She claps her hands again and the gaggle of servants splits up hurriedly. Gardners to garden, maids to see to last minute cleaning, the cooks and scullery maids to the kitchen, and the footmen to see to their own duties. A household is always working. That accomplished, Parvana turns back to Fawke with that same twinkle in her eye and gently reached up to unclasp her veil to reveal that warm, youthful face to him. Probably the first time he's gotten a clear look since he arrived, honestly. "Amu you're very silly to speak to them like that, but you ARE a foreigner I suppose." Her tail flicks behind her, lifting the Hem of her robe a little. "As I am also part of your household now, you may see me unveiled. It's been too long!" She fairly vibrates with feline energy, wanting to throw herself in for a hug--but she's too proper to do so.
