The world of Mareth was peaceful once. The many races of that world experienced hardships, of course, and conflicts did occur but, for the most part, it was peaceful existence. Then one fateful day, mages led by a sorceress named Lethice opened a portal into the realm of demons. Blinded by their lust for power, they failed to see the ruin they were inviting into their world. Demons flooded across Mareth, corrupting everything and everyone in their path. Some joined the demons willingly, trading the purity of their souls for power and pleasure. Others were enslaved, forced to serve the twisted desires of their overlords. Decades later and only a few pockets of untainted life remain on Mareth.

In another world lies the village of Ingnam. A village of humans that exists in a unique position. Many years ago a portal was discovered in a deep cave nearby the village. This portal lead to the conquered world of Mareth. Every year since the discovery of the portal, the Village Elders of Ingnam has chosen a single Champion to send to the cursed world. These Champions, youths chosen from all walks of life, are charged with travelling to the mysterious world of Mareth to ensure that the demonic threat never floods over into the world of their birth. To date, not a single Champion has ever returned, and each year the threat of demonic invasion continues.

If you've managed to read this far, then you have my gratitude. What 1x1 would be complete with a little list of guidelines that I'd like my roleplay partners to abide by. Please have a read of these to ensure you understand what I expect from you.
[list][*]First of all, no under the age of 18 UNDER ANY CURCUMSTANCES.
[*]Applicants must have read the entire OP, not just skimmed it. Lack of awareness of any point covered here or above will not be tolerated.
[*]Applicants wishing to start a roleplay with me should contact me through the PM system rather than here. OOC and IC content will be held in separate PM threads to avoid clutter.
[*]Applicants must be sufficiently literate. Occasional spelling errors can happen and are understandable, but nothing turns me off a roleplay faster than an illiterate poster.
[*]Applicants are expected to be able to post a minimum of two to three simple paragraphs. Remember that this is simply the MINIMUM. If your RP chops have you dropping page long posts every time, then I certainly won't complain.
[*]Applicants will be expected to try have keep up a regular post rate of at least once a day. Exceptions can be made for this rule, as I understand real life can be a psychedelic bitch. I only ask that I be kept in the loop to avoid me thinking I'm being ghosted.
[*]On the subject of Ghosting, if an applicant feels the need to terminate our roleplay for any reason, you are welcome to. Just don't go disappearing without a word, however. Even a quick "Later mofo!" is better than total, unexplained radio silence.
