The kitten leaned against the dragoness as she took a few more bites, appreciating the protection and cover her owner's wings provided.  As always, Maoin listened attentively - though she frowned as Lady Sorcha spoke, ears falling flat.  She knew it had been very close to the end for her, and any number of things would have killed her if things had gone a little differently.  She also knew she deserved the additional training she was being assigned - meaning less time off her already growing list of chores, and more days with sore muscles.  [color=darkslateblue]"Yes, Mistress."[/color]

Maoin put down the food bowl as she finished her last bite, pressing harder into Lady Sorcha and buried her face into the powerful creature, shaking slightly before letting out a few sobs.

What would have happened if she had died?  Would her mistress be alright?  Lady Lightsword?  Sol?  Tazia? ... Gwynn?  [color=darkslateblue]"I ... Why had she run into the ruins again?  That had been awfully stupid.  [color=darkslateblue]"... because I was jealous of ... of Sol ..."[/color]  For a couple of seconds the cat sniffled against her mistress before backing her face away and looking at Lady Sorcha after trying to collect herself.  Which was nearly impossible considering her breathing was forced into an awkward shallowness.  [color=darkslateblue]"... I thought [i]I[/i] was ... little one ..."[/color]
