I know you said "No military background" but would it be possible to ask to play a military reservist? Not with any gear or anything, just some basic background around firearms and military skills. They wouldn't be anything fancy or powerful (I don't play to win), they'd just have an interesting background to go with their rather cowardly personality.

Basically, a huge coward with a minimal military background. Thoughts?
