Awryn is loathe to wear anything that could hint at femininity but such power cannot be left unguarded and where safer than around his neck? Arwyn does not truly understand this objects power, but he understands that it has power. Upbringing/Backstory: Sir Arwyn comes from a minor noble house, barely maintaining position and status, their house being of the Welsh Kingdoms with a history rich in Old Religion. He is their shining hope of redemption, at a young age his talent for swordsmanship was discovered and the family spent what little they could to have the best tutors... they could afford, come to train him in the sword and in the word of God. Years of hard work and the encouragement and expectations of his family have turned him into a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, or so he hopes, he is somewhat untested and the weight of expectation lies heavy on his shoulders. Alas all is not so peachy as even this, for Arwyn has also suffered such tragedy, his younger sister, playful and wild he did catch sneaking off into the woods to play and frollick and whatever a young girl does in the woods... with soft words and a quick smile she did convince him not to tell mother nor father and so when asked, 'where is your sister' he lied, come next morning with no sign of the wild girl he did set out into that forest and he did find her, caught in the unholy worship of the Old Religion, and he did return with her body, cold and dead. From that day grew Arwyn's hatred of the Old Religion into a vast and vicious thing. In penance for what his lie had wrought, Arwyn made his vow, for what little it is worth, the folly of lies shall pass his tongue no more. Arwyn's people are lost but as he redeems himself, he can also redeem them. He will save the Welsh from their folly, whether they like it or not. Redemption is a tricky topic though, what does Arwyn need redemption from? For his sister? For his lie? It is possible even he does not know. Arwyn made quite a stir in the duelling community, mistaken for a dreaming hopeful he quickly made a name for himself as someone to be reckoned with, markedly winning the Damascus steel longsword and Golden Cross of Christ he carries to this day, but the duelling circle is not a battlefield and Arwyn still has much to prove. Arwyn is friendly to most Knights, believing them to be of similar morale stock, there are exceptions, he idealises the 'true christian Knight', the grail knight, and he holds a powerful scorn for those Knights of the Old Religion, association with which has plagued his family for centuries. Faith: Christianity. Loyalty: (Leave this blank for now, later name which ruler you support.) Magic: (None.) [/hider]
