[/quote] The great thing about your idea right now is the fact that it's very open. There's an item somewhere in the world that we must find and that's it. Essentially no one can say "I found it in the backyard..." because the only person who knows the location would be you as the GM. You can just simply say... "No you didn't find it" and then move on. In fact, most of the conflict will probably surround the various heirs as they struggle against each other in an attempt to find clues to this object's location. In the mean time, you can create this location and start dropping hints to facilitate the players finding the prize... like a trail of bread crumbs.
