She promptly started apologising for her outburst, but despite that, it seemed like she didn’t want to back down; her normally emotionless eyes were wavering, like there was some sort of conflict within her. Once she was done, he bowed his head. “My apologies. I didn’t know your friend was sitting there,” he said with a calm and collected voice. He thought it was cute as she tried to explain herself, and motioned to the chair behind her. “Is that chair okay to sit in, then?” he asked. Fumika blinked, as if shocked that he’d actually let the matter go so easily, but didn’t object or say anything further. She simply nodded her head before looking away. Evidently, even somebody as sedate as her got embarrassed sometimes. Takeshi then looked to Chiwa and bowed his head, “Forgive me as well. I didn’t mean to say it incorrectly.” Hatori let out a small huff. “It’s alright. It seems like we unfortunately might have to do this activity without Yoshida-san…” – she made sure to stress the honorific to refer to her classmate, not their teacher – ”So coordination is doubly more important. We can’t afford to lose a member.” Out of the corner of her eye as she spoke, Hatori noticed their group’s rather bizarre third member twitching rather abruptly upright at her words, her gaze slowly following this movement by rising from where it had been fixated on the floor, looking to her with what might have been disbelief, then panning slowly over the room before finally descending slowly to the floor with what might have been acceptance, or might have been dismay. The single tuft of hair sticking up from the top of her head parroted these motions in miniature, rising, pointing forward, sweeping out over the room, and then slowly drooping lifelessly back down amongst the rest of her bangs. She stood up as their teacher commanded them to get their equipment and costumes at the gym before going to the training grounds. Hatori wasn’t one to fully judge off of people’s first impressions, but she already had concerns that this kind of teacher wasn’t going to be the one that would be particularly friendly; in fact, he sounded a bit condescending. She decided to just ignore it for now. ”Anyways, let’s get dressed first and then get hustling towards Bravo or whatever.” “Oh… Okay,” mumbled Fumika. Compared to her earlier outburst, she sounded…dazed. Nevertheless, despite her momentary shock at the absence of the one person who, by the look of things, she’d been looking forward to working with, she quickly composed herself, stood, gathered her things, turned to face Hatori, and then… bowed her head in apology? “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have taken your seat,” She said quietly. She wasn’t stuttering anymore, evidently having recovered her composure, but there was something about the way she spoke all of a sudden that seemed odd somehow. It was as if her personality had undergone a complete 180 in a matter of seconds, and all the defiance and defensiveness she’d shown just a moment ago was simply… gone. While it was nice that she didn’t seem to be panicking anymore, it was uncanny how much she seemed like a different person… She wasn’t showing any expression on her face except a blank stare, so the other two might have just been imagining it, but was she perhaps taking the news of Yoshida’s absence rather poorly, or was she already over her disappointment and simply still ashamed of herself for her earlier obliviousness and the outburst that had followed? It was nearly impossible to tell. Well...she’s weirder than I thought. Most Quirk users were unique in their own way, and throughout her childhood she had met different kinds of people, but Fumika was a first. Takeshi was simply a bit reserved and stoic. Fumika was different, simply not expressing any sort of outward emotion; when she did, it seemed to be in outbursts like the one they just experienced. Takeshi had watched Fumika as she looked around the room for the boy who never came. There was of course her blank stare, but by the way she looked around the room, as the teacher began his lesson, while here face didn’t show dismay, just the blank stare… but her shoulders and head, along with the tuft of hair, odd as it was seemed to tell it’s own story. He decided to get up help distract her. “Motome-san?” He asked as he got closer to her, on his way to the locker rooms. She didn’t respond, and for a moment, he thought she hadn’t heard him - except that she had tilted her head slightly and was peering at him over the rim of her glasses with that same blank expression. She didn’t say a word, but evidently, at least, he had her attention. Takeshi then looked at Hatori once more. “Hatori-san, as we are going to be partners...I was wondering what each of your Quirks are. So we could start formulating a plan,” He reached out discreetly with his left hand, pulling every shadow in the room towards him and created a small, simple shaped dagger in his hand. “I can create simple constructs from any shadow within twenty feet. The downside is, however, that I get too cold keeping them up for long periods of time.” As he spoke, out of the corner of his eye Takeshi noticed a red flash as something…no, as Fumika’s eyes abruptly changed hue and began to glow for a moment, before shifting in color once again to green. “I...make things too,” The passive girl said cryptically, holding up her own hand as her hair shot bolt upright, the green hue of her eyes matched by the radiant halo and gleaming arrow that appeared within her bangs. That single antenna-like strand wobbled upward as in her hand, the same dagger that Takeshi held appeared. “It’s a copy. It isn’t always solid, though, and can’t go far away from me. I can do the same with anything I see, but it makes me sleepy.” She concluded what otherwise seemed like it might have been a lengthy explanation here, the image fading from her palm as her eyes returned to normal and her hair flopped back down with a quiet fluff. –––––––––––––––––––– The locker rooms at the gym weren’t too far away from the main classrooms, simply being a short walk towards a large, rectangular building. A wide glass dome lay at the center of the structure. Hatori would like to look around the gym when she had the time, but they weren’t going to stay there for long, only going there briefly to change to their hero costumes. She quietly observed the other two’s Quirks; one could control shadows, while the other could create projections. Hatori smirked and pulled out a single flashcard from her stack inside her sole breast pocket. Ugh...I dislike the uniforms already. Barely any pockets on the shirt...if I was wearing pants instead, it would be a lot more convenient. Hatori thought. Hatori rapidly followed the crease lines she had already made beforehand, forming a simple plane in the matter of seconds. ”Well, that makes three of us. I can also make things. Paper planes, particularly,” she added as they entered the gym. It was rather spacious inside, with enough room to fit a court for various sports such as basketball, volleyball, or even soccer, with a track surrounding the court. It seemed like it was used for rainy days, where students won’t be able to use the outside track. There was also a second floor that went around the tall glass dome, filled with exercise bikes, treadmills, and various benches and poles and other machines to work on different muscles. It was basically everything a hero-in-training needed to work out. ”Once they start flying, I can control them as far as my sight can go. I can control numerous planes, and they can fly at high speeds – almost like real fighter planes.” As they arrived at the locker room, Hatori unfolded the flashcard and put it back in her pocket. ”It’ll be a bit difficult to fly my planes in a confined space though, so maybe it’ll be better if you see it out on the training grounds. Anyways, we’ll have to part ways for now, Hatori continued as she walked towards the girl’s locker room on the right, beckoning Fumika to come along with her. ”I’ve got a good idea for what our plan will be, though.” Takeshi listened and watched as they both explained their quirks, it was quite odd that there were three people who could ‘construct’ things were all together. Interesting though, It brought up a few different ideas of what they could do. But looking at both of them, he didn’t know how well they fought, and didn’t look like much as physical fighters. But he could be very wrong. Still, he would prefer if they were support behind him while he took on the hand to hand fighting. He still had no idea who the fourth member of their team was. He nodded as they went to the girls locker room, he quickly went to his locker as well, He had worn this ‘costume’ plenty of times before and quickly put it on with ease. He walked out of the locker room sliding his double windsor knot up to his neck as he headed to the dorms quickly to pick up his gun, a 9mm. P226-Legion. After quickly doing so, he made it to the armory to get a fair amount of magazines filled with rubber bullets and mace filled bullets as well. He also picked up a katana then headed out to where they were supposed to meet, already having cleared the gun safety course for Arsenal before school started. The other girl watched curiously as she explained her quirk, but didn’t comment. Actually, although it was almost impossible to say for sure, there were a few times where her eyes began to look more focused and she opened her mouth ever so slightly, as if she was about to say something. But each and every time she did so, she immediately checked herself and went right back to just listening in silence. She didn’t seem like she was intimidated anymore, though, so then why exactly was she being so reticent? “Okay,” Fumika assented quietly. Well, at least she was paying attention. In any case, she kept up the pace, following Hatori into the locker room and beginning to look around curiously. Her eyes flashed red for a moment, and then suddenly, with new direction, she immediately walked over to a very specific locker and withdrew what appeared to be a white and hot pink jumper. Then she… hastily retreated into a bathroom stall to hide while she changed? Maybe she was just overly self-conscious after all. Hatori looked away from Fumika once she finished her short explanation, searching for her locker; the girls’ locker room wasn’t particularly big, with only three aisles of lockers and each aisle having two rows. Each locker was a little less than a meter tall, though there were small slabs near the edge of the lockers so the top row could be reached. There was some distance between each aisle, enough to fit a long bench. Since their classroom happened to be majorly girls, there were several girls already finished changing into their costumes. Fumika left for the bathroom stall as Hatori pulled out her costume. She sure is a strange girl. Maybe she doesn’t like changing in public? she thought. But Hatori didn’t really have much time to care about her; she hastily opened the guard paddings to check if her paper were ready to use, and put on her jacket before her elbow, knee, and shin-guards. Finally, she wrapped the tubing into her jacket, setting her oxygen mask right below her neck, and wore her helmet, visor up. With only less than five minutes left, Hatori didn’t really have the time to talk to Fumika, though it would have been pretty terrible of her if she abandoned her in the bathroom to do the activity herself. She rushed to the bathroom, adjusting her costume along the way. ”We gotta go soon, Fumika. Meet you at the training grounds.” Hatori headed to the armory, where plenty of military-grade devices and equipment lay ready for them to use. She shook a little – she knew that pro heroes would have access to these kind of equipment in their line of duty, but she had never even touched those kind of devices in her life. The girl grumbled; with little to no knowledge with military equipment, she was more likely to hurt herself from misuse. She grabbed the essential team communicator first; upon closer observation, it was also a locator beacon, with a button marked SOS in the back with a lock button right below it. She also grabbed a flashlight. While searching through the armory inventory, she also found a few flares, though interestingly enough, they were remote controlled. She thought for a bit before grabbing the flares, and finally the smoke grenades. Hatori didn’t want to encumber herself too much, as she was already carrying plenty of paper on her already. –––––––––––––––––––– Arriving at the training grounds barely on time for the activity, Hatori quickly looked around for Takeshi and Fumika, who should have hopefully finished changing into her costume by now. It didn’t take long to find her. Off to one side of the other assembled figures was a tall, brightly colored silhouette. Her costume was rather simplistic - a padded thigh-length romper done in bright hues of white and pink, paired with tall stockings and a few odd bands and buckles around each leg. However, apart from her team communicator strapped to one leg, she didn’t seem to have carried anything with her, and she hadn’t really spent any significant period of time in the armory. Maybe she’d been too overwhelmed by the various different weapons and gadgets available and decided to play it safe? The only real “weapon” she seemed to have was the puffed-out sleeves of the garment she wore, in which her hands seemed to disappear and which, upon a closer look, seemed almost to resemble boxing gloves. Her suit’s high collar was zipped up completely, covering her mouth and chin in their entirety, along with most of her nose. Two bright blue eyes peered out from between this tall “mask” and the drooping curtains of blonde hair that framed them, wandering aimlessly over the assembled group before her head sank slightly in what might have been disappointment, the locks of hair atop her head mimicking this motion completely. Reaching up, she tugged on a thick, shaded visor and pulled it down over her eyes, at which point her face was covered completely. A moment later, however, she twitched slightly in what might have been a start of surprise or recognition - although whether she was looking at Hatori or not was hard to say, as her eyes were completely hidden behind her thick visor along with the rest of her face. Nevertheless, a moment later, she began awkwardly shuffling her way around the edge of the assembled group of students, over to where Hatori was standing. “Sorry,” She apologized quietly, although for what wasn’t immediately clear. “I was slow.” It was an odd thing to say, considering that she’d been there before Hatori had even arrived. Maybe she’d mistaken Hatori’s call to her while she was changing as an exhortation to hurry up? Takeshi quickly found his group, it helped that one of his companions had long blonde hair to look for. He inspected the two in their uniforms, Hatori basing her design heavily on her quirk as a fighter pilot. An interesting choice to say the least, not a lot of protection but a defining look. He did find it odd that she had an oxygen mask, while he wondered if it was to hide her identity and be aesthetically pleasing, or if it truly was functional. Motome’s costume was definitely flashy as well to him, though she did wear it well in his opinion. He did note there wasn’t much protection as well, as it was more for style. It was completely not what he expected from the odd girl and wondered what her normal everyday attire was and if it was similar to this. In comparison to theirs, outwardly it looked like he didn't have any protection as well. But his design had his trench coat that was kevlar, so thicker than normal coats but only to the trained eye. His dress pants and black shirt and tie were also made of a more durable cut resistant fabric, but again looked completely normal. The only odd part of his outfit was the red belt around his waist and the boken attached to it. He truly wished that he was allowed to use his katana, as others had some deadly weapons as their own quirks so it seemed unfair, but at least he had his Sig on his thigh, hidden under his coat. His true ‘costume’ was under his clothes, A specially designed Carbon steel body armor and shoulder guards and bracers. Along with Kevlar gloves. Hidden extremely well by his normal attire. He didn’t get to say much as the teacher started, but he simply nodded and smiled at his partners. He did see their fourth member of their team and instantly got a bad feeling from the other student. He knew he would really have to work with Hatori and Motome even more as he got that feeling from Amame that he was not in the slightest bit interested in his group. After they were done, he glanced at Hatori and asked, So what was your idea you said you had earlier?” Hatori make sure to follow another one of their teacher’s clones; compared to their homeroom teacher, he appeared a bit more child-like in appearance, to say the least. Evidently, his Quirk allowed him to clone himself, though she would have to learn more about him and his Quirk later on. She also took a short glance at the final classmate they were paired up with, already clad in his hero costume which made him look like a white knight, though the silence from him and his distance from the three didn’t give her the best impression. ”It’s simple. Why should we try to jump onto this point right away? The only condition for victory is staying on the point for some minutes, but surely there would be plenty of competition...and action,” Hatori explained. She went ahead and grabbed the communicators and shared them to Fumi and Takeshi, keeping one for herself, and holding another for the newcomer. ”I say we wait it out near the point. There’s a good vantage point across the road north of where the control point is. I can send out my planes there, and when some of the opposing team members get wiped out, we all ambush the remaining ones. As long as we focus and eliminate them one by one, we can take the point for ourselves.” She walked towards Amane as she finished, extending her hand towards him with the communicator for him to grab.
