Fortunately, Daenerys was sympathetic to the plight of the bastards of the usurper and allowed them to take their paternal name in recognition of her right to rule. She would accept no less than absolute loyalty from bastards she had elevated out of the kindness of her heart. Thus the beginning of a mending of relations between two houses had begun. Nearly seven decades later this relationship doesn’t appear to have deteriorated. The current Lord Paramount of the Stormlands sits on the Small Council enforcing Daenerys’ laws while maintaining a positive relationship with her supposed heir apparent. But this very much could change when Lyonel’s honor collides with seated paranoia and anxiety. House Stark The relations between House Stark and House Targaryen used to be irrefutably strong, but as chance would have it, it isn’t the case any longer. Daenerys has long since abandoned any interaction with The North – ignoring any intervention in reconstruction of The Wall and any matters that request her involvement. This has soured the once loyal Starks, though Daenerys seems to have little care for what wolves think. It pains her to remember the war against the Others and she chooses to mourn such reflections at home in King’s Landing. She couldn’t care less what House Stark thinks as long as they continue to pay their dues. House Velaryon Following her victory against the Others, Daenerys sought to strengthen all ties with Westerosi Valyrian nobles and restore them to their former glory. The relationship between House Velaryon was the strongest of such attempts. Many non-valyrians saw this as preconceived nostalgia for Daenerys’ heritage and found themselves concerned they would be living under a Valyrian tyrannical reign. The Velaryon’s saw this well and were pleased when Daenerys established the title of Warden of the Stepstones and gave it to them in good faith. However, years later when Aegon Velaryon, the Warden of the Stepstones fashioned himself a king and attempted to kidnap the queen when she was out at sea, this relationship soured. Lord Aerion Velaryon of Driftmark waged war alongside the rest of the realm in the rebellion, but at the end when Daenerys defended the Ironborn sacking of Bloodstone, appointed a Greyjoy as its new Warden, and brought Ironborn onto the Kingsguard, he and the Queen had words that ended his term as Hand of the Queen. Ever since House Velaryon has been distant.
Storyline Premise
What is the story you are wishing to tell with this character and his house?

Character Information

Identity
Princess Serenei Targaryen
Age
21
Role
Heir Apparent of the Iron Throne Princess of Dragonstone
Characterization
One of the most remarkable sights in Westeros, Serenei’s attractive appearance is only offset by her coarse and vulgar personality. She stands at least two inches above her adopted mother, Queen Daenerys, though she often does not stand upright and proper; her posture often reflective of her orphanage as a young child. Her choices in dress are often out of her hands as heir apparent, though Serenei often speaks that she finds loose boots more comfortable than porcelain heels and clothing that makes it difficult to breathe. But what else could be expected of a Lyseni orphan and not a girl born into privilege? Serenei has served as the supposed daughter of Queen Daenerys since she was one-and-ten, though her public perception is decidedly mixed for a variety of reasons. The silver-haired lyseni has been tutored by the Hand of the Queen, Vaegon Celtigar, and various other council members of note. A bulk of her skills lies on her essoi valyrian appearance, though she is not limited to “being pretty”. Serenei was orphaned when she was eight years of age and as such picked up two years of skills on the streets on the island of Lys; she evaded slavers with her wits, stole food to survive, and found comfort through her streetwise guile. Had it not been for her catching Daenerys’ eye, Serenei would have never been adopted and forced to deal with an unforgiving, unwanting, and hostile new society. As heir, Carles Santagar has been teaching Serenei basic self-defense since she was three-and-ten, the Queen’s Hand allowing her to observe his arbitration of realm politics on the small council, and her handmaidens explicitly strengthening her savvy of etiquette and westerosi norms. She’s not very talented at any of these things, but seems to have grasped court intrigue the best; though she often finds westerosi lords hard to predict. As she grows more uncertain of her future and paranoid through [abbr=dragon dreams]obscure nightmares[/abbr] she seems to be looking to strengthen her political acumen. As the queen’s heir apparent, she has to consider marriage options, alliances, and court appearances.
Attributes & Talents
Attractive. Due to Serenei’s lyseni valyrian ancestry she is seen as attractive, though not to a unbelievable extent. She is known to have many suitors, though given her political position it may not be one entirely based on her appearance. Cynical. Serenei grew up on the streets of Lys and as such has the perspective of a survivor. She’s come across as selfish and dark-humored as a result, much to some Westerosi lord’s distaste. Certain lords consider it a positive trait as it frames the young lyseni girl as understanding of her position and of what world she’s come to be involved in; she considers it pragmatic and “even-minded”. Ruthless. Serenei had to do a lot of things as a child that darkened her perspective to survive. She knows the cost and due to a decade of Westerosi tutelage she knows the game. Serenei, while she hides it well enough, would commit the deepest horrors if it led to her maintaining what little amounts of power she has. Any threats would be swiftly dealt with and with no remorse. She refuses to go back to eating rats or fearing for the reality of becoming a man’s plaything.
Immediate Family
The adopted and sole daughter of Daenerys Targaryen, Princess Serenei has no familial ties beyond her namesake given to her by her mother.
Personal Relations
Balerion Celtigar The second-born son of the current reigning Hand of the Queen, Balerion Celtigar is a man whom Serenei met during her ventures on Claw Isle as a young woman. Since their initial meeting they have grown as close friends with a lingering romantic tension between them. Serenei is not infatuated with him, however, as he is a devoted follower of the Faith of the Seven and a dedicated knight whom Serenei has described as “overzealous and loud, like a chittering crab that serves to ruin every inch of fun from Westeros”.
