Throughout this period they have remained the overlords of the Westerlands, thanks to their financial status as the wealthiest house in Westeros and their ability to command respect and loyalty from their vassals - severely handling those who step out of line. With the War of the Five Kings and subsequent battle against Daenerys Targaryen still fresh in Lannister memory, they have barely managed to hold on to power. Their armies decimated during the wars, they can field perhaps 25’000-35’000 men, a ways off their historic strength of 50’000. His daughter, Alicent, is wed to Tyran Lannister, the second son of Lord Tytos.[/sub]
Recent History
The years immediately following the ascension of Daenerys Targaryen were not kind to House Lannister. The actions of Cersei, and to a smaller extent Tywin, had tarnished their reputation across the Seven Kingdoms - and their armies were extinguished after years of brutal fighting against their enemies. It was only through Tyrion Lannister, the unsightly dwarf dismissed by his family, that the house survived. Serving as her first Master of Coin, alongside other advisers on the Small Council he had come to befriend such as Barristan Selmy and Lord Varys, Tyrion managed the dwindling treasury and growing debt of Westeros in a notably proficient manner, once again demonstrating his skill at managing coin - as he had done once before, under a different ruler. In addition, he ensured the North received appropriate financial support to aid the rebuilding effort, though this cause would gradually lose support south of the neck after his death. However, managing the economy of a realm in such a dire financial state naturally required as much of his attention as could be spared, and so it was not until six years after his return to Westeros, in 306AC, that Tyrion would finally marry. The match itself, a purely political one to the prominent house of Lydden in the Westerlands, was not especially loving. Tyrion, ever haunted by his past, would prove to become something of an absentee husband and, eventually, father - when nine months after their wedding night Leana Lydden gave birth to the sole son and heir of Tyrion Lannister, Gerion. Returning to Casterly Rock, a rare event in and of itself, Tyrion was not especially moved by fatherhood. His own experiences with Tywin continually playing on his mind, he found remaining in Casterly Rock to be uncomfortable, and certainly had no sense of home there. It was inevitable that he would eventually return to King’s Landing to continue his work as Master of Coin, and return he did in the year 307AC. He would not return to Casterly Rock before the end of his days, and would not live to see his son's ninth birthday. Gerion, meanwhile, continued to be raised in the ancestral home of Casterly Rock, where he grew into his role of Tyrion’s heir. He could perhaps best be described as a product of circumstance, acutely aware of the precarious position House Lannister found itself in. His mother came to play a key role in overseeing his education - and while he was never especially talented with a blade, he inherited his father’s talent at handling courtiers and court-politics. When Tyrion passed in 316AC, Gerion was still a boy of only eight years, soon to turn nine. His mother became Lady Regent of the Westerlands, and over the course of the next few years, Gerion would be surrounded by advisors with differing intentions. Currently in a growing position of strength, Tytos continues to manoeuvre House Lannister and the Westerlands for the future - and he will not be satisfied until he has won the ultimate prize. The Iron Throne. Envious Tytos desires the respect that House Lannister used to command, and covets the standing that is now afforded to houses such as Baratheon. It is this envy and need to restore House Lannister to former glory that drives his ambition, and has fundamentally shaped him as both Lord of Casterly Rock and as a man. Groomed for Lordship The firstborn son of Gerion Lannister, the late Lord of Casterly Rock, Tytos has always been prepared for rulership of the Westerlands. He is competent in this regard, and can manage his realm well - with a particular talent for overseeing the ever-growing economy of the Westerlands, backed by the gold-mines that continue to run deep. He is the Lannister that brings the family together, uniting them under his vision for the future. Quick Matching his ambition, Tytos has the mind to see the bigger picture and adapt as the situation evolves. It is a dangerously efficient combination, and there will undoubtedly be plenty of opportunities in the near-future for Tytos to use this intelligence for his benefit. Deceitful and Cynical Tytos will betray his allies when the time calls for it, and serves noone but himself, and House Lannister. He will say and do what needs to be done in the present, but there is no telling how he will act in the future when the situation inevitably changes. Similarly, Tytos expects the worst from those around him and trusts few - always preparing himself for scenarios in which his allies turn against him. It is a world of kill or be killed, and this is a fact Tytos is more than acquainted with. Ruthless There is nothing Tytos will not do to achieve his own goal and ambition. He can be cruel, arbitrary and ruthless - but not unnecessarily so. Everything is measured, and for a purpose. His looks are not something Loreon often concerns himself with, but with a name as tarnished as that of House Lannister, every little helps - and being attractive certainly helps with his reputation. Strategist Something of an emerging talent, Loreon has had little opportunity to truly evidence his skill in commanding troops on the battlefield. With still much to learn, however, it is possible that the coming years will provide Loreon with the experience he needs to develop as a commander, as well as a fighter. Formidable Fighter and Duelist Renowned across the realm for his martial skill, Loreon has quickly developed a name for himself as one of the more skilled combatants in the Seven Kingdoms. He has seen great success at many tournaments and melees across Westeros, with rivals from all corners of the kingdoms itching for the opportunity to face him, and try their hand at the glory that would undoubtedly await should they manage to best him. Despite this indisputable skill however, Loreon is yet to partake in true combat outside of tournaments, and no doubt many in the older generations are quick to dismiss him as a knight of the summer, playing rather than fighting. This is something he looks to change. He wields Oathkeeper. Affectionate Loreon is deeply in love with a commoner from the Reach, named Elyana. To her, he displays a side that few have the opportunity to see, for the Lannister name carries more than one negative connotation. Indeed, his affection for Elyana and his behaviour with her shows that there is, simply, a good heart within Loreon. He would go to the ends of the world for her - and by the same coin, will allow no harm to befall her. Elyana is his world, and he has made few other true friends. Every moment is spent thinking of her, and of returning to her. Content Loreon does not desire the Lordship of Casterly Rock. He is immature in this regard, and is instead only focused on winning tournaments and spending time with the love of his life. This has been the cause of much friction with his father, Tytos. Kind Not something expected from a Lannister, is kindness. Indeed, to most of the realm, Loreon likely comes across as aloof and typical of an heir to the wealthiest house in Westeros. He has done little to quell this reputation, with his ambivalence towards making new connections and friends no doubt playing a part in his perceived aloofness. Yet those few who do know him well, know that he possesses a good heart much unlike his father’s. Whether or not the wider circles of Westeros will ever come to learn this for themselves, however, is a different matter entirely. Wroth & Proud Quick to anger and respond to confrontation, which tends to be a regular occurance with the reputation of House Lannister, he has become known for his bad temper. It is more than fair to say that the wider perception of Loreon across the Seven Kingdoms is not a pleasant one. Seen as aloof, and with a bad temper, he has betrayed his true nature and good soul by his lack of effort to make lasting relationships and friendships. Only in the small circle of his close confidants is his actual nature known. Journeying Having fallen foul of his father, Tytos, he has not been in the Westerlands for more than a month at a time for at least five years. Instead, he travels the seven kingdoms attending tournaments and melees. Recently, he has been spending a good deal of time in and around Highgarden. Skilled Rider Perhaps natural for a man who spends a great deal of time in tournaments and jousts, Loreon has become a talented rider.
Immediate Family
WIP The family tree for House Lannister is viewable here, and is currently under construction. here.
Personal Relations
Elyana The single-most important thing in his life, Loreon cannot picture his existence without her. The pair have been together for almost a decade, first meeting when Loreon was at the young age of six-and-ten, and she five-and-ten. They are inseparable, much to the chagrin of Lord Tytos, and Loreon has rebuffed attempts by his father to match him with a suitable noblewoman. The future for these two lovers is unclear, having discussed leaving Westeros for Essos, marrying in secret - and a multitude of other scenarios. Whatever the case, however, their ambition to remain together will not be an easy one, and with war on the horizon of Westeros, their happily-ever-after may become nothing more than fantasy. Willam Payne Childhood friends, Willam and Loreon grew close over the formers frequent visits to Casterly Rock in their early years. The pair enjoyed sparring together, finding few others in their age group to compete with at the same level of skill, and grew close through this common talent. Willam knows the side to Loreon that few see, and has been aware of his romance with Elyana from the beginning. Since the fallout with his father, Loreon often chooses to stay at Payne Hall over Casterly Rock on his infrequent returns to the Westerlands, with Willam having served as the Lord of Payne Hall for the past three years. Though their meetings are less-frequent, their bond remains strong as ever, and Loreon views Willam as nothing less than a brother. Tytos Lannister On especially poor terms, Loreon has not spoken to his father for almost a year and has no desire to change this fact. By Tytos, Loreon is seen as immature and unready to succeed him as Lord of Casterly Rock, with many past arguments especially centered around his current love for a commoner. There is no mend to this relationship in sight, and it will undoubtedly spell trouble for the near-future of House Lannister. Axel Baratheon Though the two have never been especially antagonistic toward one another, the natural relations between Houses Lannister and Baratheon have always placed the pair on opposite footing. The incident with Brus has done little to improve their impressions of one another, and they keep their distance where possible. Loreon does not have much of a formed opinion of Axel beyond this. Brus Baratheon Both attending tournaments across the Seven Kingdoms, it was inevitable that the two would eventually come face to face. With Loreon’s short temper, and Brus’ eagerness to taunt his foes (and in particular, Lannisters), it is perhaps no surprise that the two came to blows over a comment made by Brus toward Elyana. Loreon left him with a permanent mark to remember the encounter, and the relation between the two has been vicious ever since. Time will tell whether their old wounds are healed, or made worse by the passage of time. Lyanna Baratheon Something of an unlikely friendship was fostered between the two when they met in Dorne for a short time. Approaching Loreon, she was uncharacteristically kind for a Baratheon in her attempts to get to know and spend time with him. Not having been in contact for a number of years though, and notably not since the incident with Brus, it is uncertain where they stand with one another, though Loreon continues to have a good impression of Lyanna. Mychel Mudd Loreon has met the heir to Harrenhal only briefly at one or two tourneys across the realm. Still, he sees something of a younger version of himself in the boy, who has made for more than one entertaining watch in the lists. Evidently a growing talent, Loreon is curious to see what the future will hold for this boy. Tygett Lannister More acceptable than his father, Loreon has seen much of Tygett due to his frequent stays at Highgarden and trips around the Reach. The pair do not especially get along, but instead leave one another to their own devices, which is likely appreciated by both.

[ ♫ ]
Identity
Tybolt Lannister
Age
40
Role
Master of Whisperers
Characterization
TBD
Attributes & Talents
Elusive Shadow The Master of Whisperers for Queen Daenerys Targaryen, Tybolt has mastered the art of dealings in the shadows. His network of spies and informants runs deep, embedded within the very fabric of the Seven Kingdoms as well as the Free Cities of Essos. As secretive as one would expect, Tybolt keeps his cards close to his chest - and his true loyalty is never quite known, until it is too late. For even Tytos, the one man who should be able to trust Tybolt, there is an air of unease around their dealings. Schemer With his eyes and ears spread across the Seven Kingdoms and beyond, Tybolt is constantly planning - locked away in his studies and scrolls. Indeed, he is rarely seen outside of Small Council meetings, which only adds to the level of ambiguity and secrecy surrounding him. Torturer Something of an enthusiast in the arts of extracting information, Tybolt has dedicated a fair amount of time to studying the art. He is a keen hobbyist of alchemy, also, and has great mountains of books and papers describing the effects of various poisons and toxins. Shrewd An essential talent for any man of politics, and especially spymaster, is the ability to read a room - and Tybolt is a natural. He has solid powers of judgement, and is calculated in his moves to allow for little possibility of error. Shy Tybolt prefers to keep his own company, than that of others. Even at the Small Council meetings, he will speak only when necessary, and prefers to remain silent where possible.
