During the War of the Five Kings the Hightowers remained neutral and silent until the arrival of Daenerys Targaryen to Westeros. Boosting a well known history of loyalty to the Targaryen rulers, it was only natural that the Hightowers quickly pledged themselves to Daenerys. They followed by giving their full support to her as she took the Iron Throne, asserting their loyalty to the new queen. During this time the Hightowers had conflicts with the Greyjoys, who attempted to raid Oldtown.

[SUP][SUB]
House Relations
[/SUB][/SUP]

House Tyrell - For generations the Hightowers have loyally served under their liege lords, the Tyrells. Their relations look certain to strengthen in the coming days, due to an imminent marriage. Florian Tyrell, the late Lord Paramount of House Tyrell, had been in the final stages of organizing a wedding between his eldest daughter, Elinor, and Ser Jorgon Hightower, the heir to Oldtown. An arrangment which Lord Cordin agreed to and has been for, pushing for his younger brother and heir to finally get married. Together, Houses Hightower and Tyrell are expected to rule the Reach.
House Tarly - The Tarlys and Hightowers have had a close relationship for generations and since the return of the Targaryens they have looked to grow even closer. Lord Cordin was married to Edeline Tarly, and he has always tried to keep a strong relationship with her family even after her passing.
House Targaryen - For generations the Hightowers were proud supporters of the Targaryen kings and queens. Upon Queen Daenerys' arrival to Westeros this loyalty and support was bestowed to her. The Hightowers have remained utterly loyal to her and the crown since then. Their devotion to Queen Daenerys is unquestionable, though their opinion of her supposed daughter is a more unsure one. Cordin's daughter Mariela is a close friend of Princess Serenei and the Hightowers have encouraged this friendship to blossom.
House Arryn - Due to Lord Luthor's numerous visits to Oldtown and devotion to the Faith, the Hightowers and Arryns have a friendly relationship. They have no trade relations, being very far distance wise, but have had pleasant encounters in the past.
House Greyjoy - Over the years the Greyjoys have attempted numerous raids upon the Reach and Oldtown itself. Due to this the Hightowers hold a low opinion of the Greyjoys, many within the house seeing them as little more than glorified pirates. The Hightowers never attempt to communicate with the Greyjoys, content with allowing them to dwell on their rocky islands.

[SUP][SUB]
Conceptualization
[/SUB][/SUP]

House Hightower has long stood firm in Oldtown, often avoiding wars due to their support of the Faith. This soon may change as the proud Hightowers find themselves in a state of confusion along with the rest of Westeros. Boosting a powerful fleet, a plentiful amount of gold and a massive army of soldiers at their disposal, it may be time for the storied house to try to make its move on the Iron Throne. For now they remain ever vigilant and faithful in Oldtown, though first they may have to combat a Summer sickness.

[sub]
Point-of-View Characters
[/sub]

C o r d i n H i g h t o w e r
Lord of The Hightower, Oldtown General Title; Lord of the Hightower
[SUP][SUB]
Age
[/SUB][/SUP]

41

[SUP][SUB]
Appearance
[/SUB][/SUP]

Lord Hightower stands a sturdy six feet in stature, with a warrior's frame even in his middle age. He is in good shape and being, much of this due to his constant training with his blade. His formerly long brown hair has been cut short though a scruffy beard still coats part of his face. His skin is a light shade and his eyes are a darkish green color. Once considered a handsome man in his younger days, he still is said to retain some of this attractiveness though he does not care as much about his looks as he once did.

[SUP][SUB]
Reputation
[/SUB][/SUP]

He has been lord of House Hightower for almost five years now, having earned the title following his father, Kerith Hightower's death. He is Kerith's oldest child and one of his two sons.
Trained from the moment he could lift a sword, Cordin continues to constantly try to better his talent with a blade. He is one of the finest swordsman in the Reach, only surpassed by his younger brother, Jorgan and a few others.
He wields the ancestral sword of his house, Vigilance, A Valyrian steel longsword.
He is looked fondly upon by the citizens of Oldtown due to his attention to the smallfolk, having spent gold in the past in order to feed the most downtrodden in the city.
Cordin is said to be a calm, patient and just man, one that takes after his father in many ways.
Due to his wife's unexpected passing three years ago Cordin does smile much anymore. This sometimes gives off the impression that he is an unfriendly man. He married his wife, Edeline Tarly out of love rather than politics and she was the most important person in his life, her death still haunts him.
He has one daughter, Mariela Hightower, who is his only surviving child. He had one other, a son who died in childbirth. In recent times it has been discussed for him to marry a second wife, though he's not sure himself if he's ready for that.

[SUP][SUB]
Relations
[/SUB][/SUP]

He has a mixed relationship with his younger brother, and heir, Jorgan. While he loves him as a brother does and wants the best for his sibling, the two often disagree on issues. Cordin is the more realistic and grounded of the two, while his brother is more ambitious one.
He cares deeply for Mariela, and is protective of her, hoping to marry her to a man she wants to wed who will treat her kindly. If anything were to happen to her then he would not react well.
Cordin thinks highly of his cousin Markas, seeing the boy as kind and holding the potential to be a great man. His eyes are a brown shade and his hair is also brown, it is trimmed short. He has grown a thick goatee along his chin and around his lips, patchy stubble covers the rest of his jawline. He is considered average looks wise, not blessed with jawdropping features that others in the Reach are born with. Always clad in armor befitting a proud knight, Jorgon has the sigil of the Faith of the Seven branded onto the hilt of his fine steel longsword.

[SUP][SUB]
Reputation
[/SUB][/SUP]

Jorgon is an extremely devout man, one almost zealous in his belief in the Faith of the Seven. He seems to put his religious beliefs above all else, and as such he holds poor opinions of other religions and those that follow them.
He's easily the best swordsman in his house, and one of the best in the Reach. His wealthy father spared no expense in ensuring Jorgon and Cordin were both trained as well as they could possibly be with the blade.
He tries to hold himself to the expected standards of a knight in the Reach, and has done a good job with this. He was knighted at age 18.
As expected of a knight he's also made sure to verse himself well in military tactics and formations.
He's honest to an almost brutal degree, and while isn't intentionally mean his words can be sometimes considered harsh or cruel.
He's a highly ambitious individual, wanting to become one of the greatest knights in history, one that is remembered for having fought for faith and glory.

[SUP][SUB]
Relations
[/SUB][/SUP]

Jorgon isn't liked by some in his own house due to his brash personality and his fantical devotion to his faith.
Him and Cordin are relatively close as brothers are expected to be, but the two often clash on thoughts and opinions. Still, he serves as Cordin's right hand man when it comes to anything involving warfare or combat
Jorgon is very stern and strict with Markas, his cousin and squire. Just like how the knight he squired under was to him. He thinks the boy has talent and potential, just needs to try harder constantly. He also wishes he took his faith more seriously.
He thinks positively of Cordin's daughter, Mariela, though he believes that she should be married soon. He thinks his brother has done a fine job raising her, though is unsure of what to make of her hanging around with Princess Serenei.
He has been arranged to marry Elinor Tyrell despite having limited contact with her. He's the only child of the late Lucan Hightower, the former Lord Kerith's younger brother.
He's a kindhearted and quiet boy, nervous about being potentially thrust into such an important position within the House.
Markas has shown some natural talent with a sword and is doing well in his training under Jorgon, but this does not stop him from being constantly criticized by his teacher.
He has not given a single thought to getting married, focusing entirely at the moment on his training under his tough teacher.

[SUP][SUB]
Relations
[/SUB][/SUP]

He holds a very positive opinion of Cordin, seeing the man as a fine Lord and person. He wishes sometimes that Cordin was the one teaching him to be a knight, rather than his harsh brother.
He personally does not like Jorgon, though he greatly respects the man as a knight and warrior. Markas knows he has to train hard under the man in order to become a good knight.
He likes Cordin's daughter, Mariela, finding her as a cheerful person albeit a bit overly talkative.

this is a WIP.
