It was past 8 already so most classes had already started and if he was in one he still had time for the next class, Drow her own schedule was mostly empty from a few classes she gave since she was still new so her time would go to these kind of conversations. She had plenty of time for practices with this boy for now, or to watch him do some stuff at least. He agreed to display how far he was with his controlling of lightning at least, Drow patiently watched him as he readied himself. The focus of putting the energy in his body to lightning in his hands was mostly good for as far as she could see. It was still very rough around the edges. The ball of lightning took to long to make. He used too less energy for what he was creating, when the lightning ball exponentially grew bigger he didn't lose his concentration. The ball became fairly sized to hurt someone badly with but he failed at making it any bigger. After showing his powers to her he didn't seem tired or unfit, he had plenty of energy left in him to do it a few times more then that. His skill in putting the right amount of energy into the ball just lacked, he had lost complete control of it when there was to little energy left in the ball. Funny, Drow was completely different when she was still young, her lightning would throw her back when she created anything at all. Drow gave a short understand nod, Alex seemed really disapproved of his own abilities Drow tilted her head down a little hiding her mouth behind the top of her scarf seeming sorry for the boy. She stepped a few steps closer to him silently patting him on the back before writing something on her paper again. 'Don't worry, you are still on school. You'll get better at it.' A quick drawn jolly emoji was drawn on the paper next to the text as for trying to cheer him up. Drow was still a child in most ways. 'Try keeping the lightning in a smaller ball and concentrate on giving it way more power untill you feel your energy drain. Then start making it bigger untill there is nothing left of it.' It was probably a bit extreme to say to put so much power into it but she hoped he would release that power capacity of him so that he got the feeling of what he had to give to put power behind his lightning and form the ball quicker as well. She placed down her notebook on the ground for a moment and held out her hand for him to see, she pulled off one of her leather gloves and put some power on her fingers slowly. In almost an instant the ball was formed in her hand and stayed in the same shape and form. She put just enough power in that it would not explode and faced the other way before letting it exponentially grow to the size of a house before it dissipated with a few discharges still around the area. Her light blue hair was flowing behind her head while she used her powers, it slowly moved back down after she had stopped. She gave a short nod and a small smile at him ready for him to begin this exercise while picking her notebook from the ground back up again with her glove still off of her hand in case something would happen.
