I dunno, I still use queer sometimes. Depends on the setting. A roleplay based in the late 1800s - early 1900s would be thematically appropriate to use queer in its original context, for example.

True. Though given people's ability to miss context. I'd certainly not use certain terms and names of some times and regions.
