I'd assume hand-to-hand is the same in a Werk as when boots on the ground. Perhaps they can also render our weapons ineffective? 

An assault on our home base which catches us unprepared would probably result in severe losses, and besides... I'm certain that if we/you can predict such an outcome, some higher-up on Solaire ought to be able to as well.
