His body has more than it's fair share of scars, although most are hidden behind his armor or whatever piece of cloth he is wearing at the moment. The only thing of note is the mechanical prosthetic that replaces his forearm but, aside from this, he looks mostly like the average Batarian, with his skin being that of a light brown color. Outside the prosthesis that replaces his forearm, the most noteworthy feature is a rather faded tattoo of the Blue Sun's symbol on his neck, and although the image is mostly faded it is obvious that the tattoo itself was removed with some urgency which means that, those familiar with the group's insignia might be able to identify the faded tattoo for what it is if they can get a good look at it. Apart from this, when not on his armor, Khosin prefers to wear a white, long sleeved, shirt along with grey pants and matching shoes most of the time Background: Born from a moderately wealthy family in 2143 CE, Khosin found his initial life to be an easy one. His parents were a loving couple that often doted on their children, and he adored his trio of younger brothers and sisters and the discovery of biotic potential within the young Batarian proved to not be problematic and his family managed to find a school that accepted Biotic children easily enough. As such, most of the life of the young Batarian would be a pleasant -fairly uneventful- one. His parents were kind people, treating their slaves well, and would recite excerpts from the Pillars of Strength from time to time to their children. In short order, Khosin's family was a 'model' family so to speak within the society of the Batarian Hegemony. That all would change the year 2165 CE, when his father invested most of the family's funds in what -at the moment- seemed a secure investment in a fledgling mining colony being funded by the Hegemony in the Skyllian Verge. But what seemed to be a safe prospect turned to be anything so, as the colony was lost to the Alliance's aggressive colonizing efforts which -along with the Council favoring the Alliance in that particular instance, and the Hegemony paying a meager, if they paid at all, insurance- the Sedgoroh family found itself barely making enough money to not sell themselves into servitude. It was at this point that Grathe found himself enlisting with the Hegemony's military in the hopes of making the humans that had ruined his family pay, a decision motivated mostly by the newfound hatred of humanity that the young Batarian felt. It wouldn't be so and although Khosin proved himself a capable soldier, specially on the field of engineering over biotics, he was deemed a troublemaker -starting fights with his fellow soldiers and getting into arguments with his superiors- and was being considered for a discharge before his second year within the military, it was at this time when he was approached by a Colonel within the Hegemony's military for a 'special' project as the man himself put it. Seeing no reason to say no Khosin accepted the offer that the colonel gave him and soon the young Batarian found himself listed as being honorably discharged, a cover for his transference to the command of colonel Khesrak Sed’mevan. The 'special' project of colonel Sed'mevan, as it turned out to be, was to be inducted into a black ops squad who's principal objective was to raid ships that travelled near the Mass Effect Relays that led to Hegemony space, preferably those of the Alliance if the opportunity presented itself, and then funnel the resources back to Hegemony space via Sed'mevan's contacts in the black market. Khosin keeps what happened in the following years after he joined the colonel's command to himself. Indeed, Khosin's history is mostly unknown until 2171 CE where he appears within a passenger list arriving on the Citadel station within a freighter that came from the Terminus system. However, things were not to be easy, for Khosin found that in the Citadel it was difficult to find work within a mercenary outfit and as such, he found himself booking a passage for Omega. Once he found himself within the asteroid space station, the Batarian found himself looking once more for merc work, Where he eventually found himself enlisting within the Blue Suns mercenary outfit, mostly due to the fact that the Suns were the only major merc group that regularly recruited Batarians as himself. As fate would have it, Khosin managed to find work within the mercenary group thanks to the recommendation of a friend within it, a Batarian by the name of Rorish Ghem'meros whom he had met while working for colonel Khesrak. Khosin and Rorish had met during his first year under Sed'mevan's command, but Ghem'meros had left a few months after Khosin had joined the colonel's squad. The experience of being a Blue Sun proved to be a life changing decision for Khosin, as the job forced him to come into contact with a more diverse group of people -specifically Turians and Humans- which forced him to become a somewhat more accepting person and even if he continued to firmly hate the human Alliance, the experience allowed him to work with humans (if albeit begrudgingly at times). Unfortunately, his tendency as a troublemaker from his days as a Hegemony soldier followed him into his life as a mercenary and he easily got into fight with his fellow Blue Suns rather easily. As such, his tenure within the mercenary group turned to be rather short -numbering only four years, with the day of his departure corresponding with the opening days of 2175 CE- and Khosin found himself dumped into the streets of Omega once more, along with a beating courtesy of those 'friendly' enough to leave him at the space station marking the occasion. Without much of an experience outside of military work, Khosin found himself working on the closest profession at hand, bounty hunting. He worked alone for the next year, specializing in bringing live bounties for his clients, before he decided to join the team of one Captain Jerrel Luzami, lured by the promise of credits and the benefits of working with a team of mercs once more. Unfortunately his Salarian employer was found dead before the crew's first meeting, the haphazardly put together merc crew were informed that each individual had been bequeathed a percentage of the late Jerrel Luzami's ship The Borealis and, in a surprising turn of events, the mercenary misfits decided to continue working together, eventually dubbing themselves the Jury Riggers. Khosin spent the next three years with the Riggers, finding a sense of kinship and belonging that had eluded him ever since his family's misfortune. However the fate of his birth family, still living in Hegemony controlled space, gnawed at Khosin's minds, afraid that, despite the money he sent after each successful mission, it wouldn't be long before tragedy struck the Sedgoroh family once more. Eventually Khosin decided to return to Hegemony space alone; while he felt part of the Riggers, he trusted only himself where his family was concerned and so he didn't ask for help from the rest of the crew. It took weeks for Khosin to finally arrive at Hegemony space, with few captains willing to carry a Batarian past the relays that led to the Batarian home cluster of Kite's Nest. When he finally managed to track down his family, Khosin found out his family in a precarious situation; the money he had sent had helped keep his family barely afloat, preventing them from having to take any desperate measures to survive, yet due to the corruption that permeated the Hegemony’s society, along with the criminal underbelly present in Kar’Shan, meant that his family was managing to hold on by a single thread. The next few months were marked by Khosin’s desperate attempts to smuggle his family out of Kite’s Nest, having to traverse the web of corruption that was ever-present in Batarian space. Things came to a head when the vessel that was smuggling Khosin and his family out was intercepted by the Hegemony’s internal forces. Brought to a space station close to the relay that led out of the cluster, built in secret by the Internal Forces to monitor the passage of ships into and out of Hegemony space, Khosin and his family were led to a man who Khosin had hopped to never see again: Khesrak Sed’mevan, the old Colonel who had recruited Khosin all those years ago for a black ops project. What happened next is something that Khosin keeps to himself even to this day, the only thing that can be said for certain is that he and his family escaped from Hegemony space and that Khosin hasn’t had contact with his family after that fateful day. Returning to the Riggers Khosin tried to reintegrate as best as he could to the team, yet it was evident to anyone in the crew that paid enough attention that Khosin wasn’t the same. As time passed it became evident that the Batarian looked more and more haggard, his performance during missions worsened by each contract the team took. Things came to a head when, during a mission, a brief moment of distraction led to Khosin being ambushed and the loss of his right forearm while fending off his attacker. Realizing that he was becoming a hazard to the crew, once he had managed to recuperate well enough, Khosin bade goodbye to the Riggers, promising to return once he had managed to get his act together. The next three years that followed were a downward spiral for the Batarian, one that only worsened when one of his old crewmates from the Jury Riggers contacted him to tell him that the crew had disbanded. Estranged from his birth family, and the crew that he had grown to consider a second family scattered through the galaxy, Khosin drifted through the Terminus system, falling deeper and deeper into depression. All that changed however when he heard of the Andromeda Initiative for, with nothing left to lose, the prospect of escaping to a new galaxy appealed to the troubled Batarian. However Khosin knew that, realistically, his chances of securing a spot on the Nexus were next to non-existent due to, in no small part, his shady background and the matter of being a Batarian. Determined to make the voyage to Andromeda Khosin made contact with the Alliance through a series of third parties, selling Hegemony secrets to the Alliance -such as information about the Hegemony’s Internal Forces and information pertaining the black ops project run by colonel Sed’mevan- in exchange for the latter pulling some strings and securing a cryo-pod for him in the Nexus along with a position as part of the security staff of the Initiative. 600 years later Khosin was pulled from cryo-stasis to help contain the mutiny that had occurred due to the disasters that had plagued the Nexus ever since it’s arrival to the Heleus Cluster. What followed were sleepless night after sleepless night as Khosin overworked himself trying to contain the rapidly deteriorating situation aboard the Nexus. He could empathize with the mutineers feelings, understanding their desire to lash out against an unjust situation, yet at the same time he was determined to make sure the Initiative wouldn’t fail, and the actions of the mutineers only helped to decrease the chances of success that they had. In the months following the exile of the mutineers Khosin kept driving himself to work harder, looking for any sabotage left from the mutiny, with little to no rest. Unfortunately, as the situation worsened and hope was lost day by day, Khosin once more fell into depression as the failure of the Initiative became with each passing day less a possibility and more a certainty. That is, until the day the Hyperion docked with the Nexus. With the appearance of a Pathfinder Khosin felt that, maybe, the Initiative wasn’t doomed after all, a hope that came true when, somehow, the Hyperion’s Pathfinder managed to rid Eos of the radiation that had plagued the desert planet, and which had been the doom of the previous two outposts before Prodromos. After the establishment of Prodromos, Khosin requested a transfer to one of the APEX teams that were being sent to the new military outpost for training. There the Batarian threw himself into his training wholeheartedly, determined, to the point of obsession some would say, to make sure that the chance given to the Initiative by pathfinder Ryder wouldn’t be squandered. Personality: Outwardly Khosin seems like a personable man well enough, willing to engage with this fellow APEX team members but upon further inspection it becomes evident that Khosin tends to evade any deep questions or divulging personal information at least not to those who haven’t gained his trust. However while Khosin is seemingly personable and affable well enough there are a few things that make him lose his temper, one of those being any sort of behavior that might blatantly endanger the Initiative as a whole. As such, talk about the Exiles is an easy way to irk him for while he might understand their grievances and viewpoint, he can’t get over the fact that by their actions they might have doomed the Initiative and -as such- he can't bring himself to fully forgive them for what they did. Outside of this there isn’t much to say, bar reading and occasionally tinkering with machinery Khosin has little to no hobbies and can be found frequently, some would say to an alarming degree, drinking while on his free time, though when on active duty -or when there is an alert for potential threats- he abstains from drinking. Reason for being awoken from Cryo (Specific jobs, skills, and Initiative Application): Khosin was awoken from Cryo to help deal with the mutiny that took place in the Nexus shortly after it was damaged by the Scourge, his main job consisting of containing the actions of the mutineers.
